It sucks they only tried it on one patient. With such a small test pool, the results are hardly conclusive.

Goddamn, I was about to post that exact link.
Unfortunately, that's an experiment from 1996. If you presented it nowadays I'm sure you'd get screeched out of the room by people nitpicking "errors" or saying that the patient probably didn't have dysphoria or whatever.
As much as I'd like there to be a miracule cure to gender dysphoria, I don't think having one or a handful of cases where primozode was an effective treatment necessarily means it would work for the majority of the population, given how differently individuals can respond to drugs to treat mental disorders. If there was a larger case study, I would be more
I take offense to that tweet. We're not common dipshits.
Same with the male pillEvery time people demand a miracle cure, it comes with severe side-effects. I remember a few years ago all the feminists clamoring for the "female viagra" to be approved by the FDA when in fact its effect was observed in only a tiny minority of women, and if taken alongside alcohol it turned basically into a date-rape drug. But they didn't care, they wanted it noooooooow.
There's also the fact that no one can agree on what gender dysphoria means. A lot of "egg hatchers" insist that if you were perfectly fine with your sex but are slightly happier when crossdressing, you have dysphoria. I'd wager the criteria for a diagnosis from a psychiatrist aren't particularly strict, either. As much as I'd like there to be a miracule cure to gender dysphoria, I don't think having one or a handful of cases where primozode was an effective treatment necessarily means it would work for the majority of the population, given how differently individuals can respond to drugs to treat mental disorders. If there was a larger case study, I would be moreabout it as a treatment, but right now there isn't a ton of evidence for its efficacy, especially since it has many side effects as others has mentioned.

That's the big problem. Trying to treat/cure gender dysphoria is getting lumped with trying to pray the gay away. And because of that a lot of dicks are getting chopped and a lot of idiots are putting crossdressing pictures online that they will regret in 20-30 years. Assuming they live another 20-30 years, anyway...I don't think that's the point (well not what I'm saying personally). This one study is certainly not enough. And back then trannies were quite rare. So I don't even think there was any hurry to study it, let alone create treatment.
However, currently no one would be able to even try to develop an anti-psychotic, or any other pharmaceutical to treat gender dysphoria. They aren't allowed. Lisa Littman couldn't even do starter research on why droves of little girls are now suddenly gender dysphoric without every oily manbeast troon in a mini-skirt bitching to the heavens- and I believe they got her fired.
Oh I absolutely agree that there should be more research into treating gender dysphoria other than pumping men full of horse piss and lopping their balls off, and that alternate treatment research is surpressed in the name of transphobia. But as FangsofJeff said, the definition of GD is so vague and variable from person to person, trying to treat gender dysphoria itself may be a red herring.I don't think that's the point (well not what I'm saying personally). Castration/devirilization often has a enyouthening effect, and they've probably noticed/think the softening of their features with their hormonal treatments creates a disparity in their apparent age. Hypogonadism in a male can be something like a fountain of youth for some.Honest question, why do troons always ask how old they look along with whether they pass? What’s the relevance of their age? Are they trying to look young or old?
Tolerance is a fatal disease. Islam is right in their treatment of these aberrations.
"Stephens said she knew she was different from the age of five, but she didn’t have the words or examples in her life to explain it. Growing up there had been no internet, no famous trans people in the media to identify with and no one to talk to. “I knew enough to know that what I was feeling was not acceptable,” said Stephens."
See? When I say that this huge outbreak of trans teenagers on the Internet isn't out of nowhere, I'm not talking out of my ass.
It couldn't possibly be as bad as chopping off body parts. If you mean pimozide, it's not really a miracle cure, it's pretty fucking horrible in its own right.

Come on, we all know there's no such thing as gender dysphoria, it's just something invented by lunatics out of jealousy, insanity, or autism. The only thing that will stop this is being radically conservative, shunning these people, and putting them away. You can't cure something that doesn't exist, you can only lock it away and dowse it with a pressure hose.Oh I absolutely agree that there should be more research into treating gender dysphoria other than pumping men full of horse piss and lopping their balls off, and that alternate treatment research is surpressed in the name of transphobia. From troon to troon, their personal definitions of dysphoria seem to range from general depression, insecurity with gender roles/bodily insecurity in general, failure to understand the nuances of gender roles due to autism, to fetishizing crossdressing. There's definitely many trannies out there who have some "true" form of gender dysphoria because they are actually crazy and need medication to ease their symptoms, but I imagine they are only a small portion of the general troon population nowadays. I think before people leap into pumping trannies with all different sorts of drugs to fix their brains, they should focus on therapy, as much of the current troon population seems to have a socially-induced dysphoria rather than actual insanity compelling them to self-mutilate.
Even thought I agree with you, gender dysphoria is a thing just like anorexia and dysmorphophobia. People will always find reasons to hate their bodies, smarter ones will fight the cause and dumber/weaker ones will fight with their dicks and tits.Come on, we all know there's no such thing as gender dysphoria, it's just something invented by lunatics out of jealousy, insanity, or autism. Seriously, when we need to create a charter of truths and reality. The first thing on that list will be "Being a man or woman is a biological experience not prone to subjectivity."
That is very interesting. I’m beginning to think that Izzy is a man. this obviously never happened, but it sounds like some fantasy someone fucked up would invent. Then there is the aggression. Something really doesn’t feel right.Don't tell me, Twitter's favorite "cis lesbian" set off a massive chain reaction of troon selfies but declined to post a picture of """her"""self?
EDIT: Previous posts about Izzy:
1. "She" tweets out pics of women and lets readers assume that it's a photo of "her"self
2. The profile pic on "her" Youtube channel is a screencap of porn
For real, extrapyramidal side effects are no joke (akathisia is particularly hellish). Sometimes these movement issues resolve themselves after the patient discontinues the drug but not always. If someone absolutely needs antipsychotics to function they should know the risks, but they're far from harmless. It might actually be worse. It can cause something called tardive dyskinesia, where your eyes roll back in your head like you're possessed, you constantly make faces that make you look like a brain damaged exceptional individual (because of actual brain damage) and other disfiguring, even scary looking shit.
My mom has a theory that everyone wants to look "25ish", because younger people dressing up for a bar try to look around that age, and tragic oldies try to cling on to twentysomethingness.Honest question, why do troons always ask how old they look along with whether they pass? What’s the relevance of their age? Are they trying to look young or old?
Why would that be necessary in the first place? Vasectomies are a thing.Same with the male pill
