To be honest I don't find this all that surprising. When online people dissappear for years and then come back it's usually because they had some major life event, and increasingly tht life event will be a transition. The Nerimon incident did a number on Charlie, I think, since they were such good friends and Charlie got caught somewhat in the crossfire. His fanbase of teen girls liked him because he was sensitive and meek and emotional, so I cn see how transitioning would be the next logical step for him, since the softboy era is now a thing of the past.

Plus, he's over 30 now, which means he's lost his twinkish appeal. Upon hitting the wall your average twink must choose between accepting the passage of time and becoming a regular guy with flannel shirts and a boring haircut, or stubbornly resisting the influence of mother nature and trooning out.
