In reality, it's not much of a choice. The main difference between fundamentalists and the left re: supporting your husband's sexual perversions is that the left demands to be able to enact theirs in public. Josh Duggar is the best known example, but he's far from the only one. His wife has stuck by him through his trial and conviction for child pornography, rather than doing anything she can to protect her young daughters from a father who molested his sisters when they were children. The typical response when a fundie man commits sexual crimes is that the entire family covers it up and "deals with it internally" rather than reporting him to the police. Mormon women have been told by church leaders to stay married to husbands who are addicted to porn and crossdress in private. The husband gets a talking to, but since the wife is essentially told to shut up and endure, there's no real way to stop him from continuing to be a pervert.

The only thing to be done with perverted husbands is to divorce them and report them to the authorities where applicable. Neither extreme will allow you to do this as a wife, because the left doesn't see anything wrong with what they're doing, and religious fundamentalists oppose divorce and think that the only correct approach to sexual abuse is for the abuser to ask God for forgiveness privately. The former is far more destructive to society and public morals, so I'd still choose the latter if I were forced to, but it's far from ideal.

When you see male perverts like "Ethel Cain" who make a big deal out of leaving religious fundamentalism, it's because they're so perverted that acting out their fetishes in private wasn't enough. They need the entire world to be forced to participate in their fetish, and they want your pity for not being allowed by their church to LARP as a sexually abused little girl 24/7.
