What would you say is the ground zero of the modern day troon explosion?
My hypothesis:
I believe the shit hit the fan all the way back in 2013 with the
DSM-5
(the
Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition).
The American Psychiatric Association have this diagnostic and mental disorders manual that they revised in 2013. In it they renamed
gender identity disorder to
gender dysphoria.
Believing that you should be/can become the opposite sex
is a disorder.
With this new wording, instead of alleviating a mental disorder at its root cause with phsycological help, we now medicate to alleviate the symptoms of
gender dysphoria. They couldn't even bring themselves to call it
sex dysphoria. It's always this meaningless 'gender' nonsense.
This passage from the Wikipedia article is the most damaging part: (can't believe some troon haven't deleted it yet).
