What the hell is their true selves? Theoretically all people living everywhere have a version of this. All of us have social masks we have to wear to be acceptable, it is extra tough for autists but there's a reason to not "stim" publicly aside from it not being "socially acceptable".

The book takes the position that all autistic people are different, and that you can be autistic too without actually being autistic (i.e. your child is autistic if they say they’re autistic). Except the phrase “everybody is a little autistic” is offensive — it dismisses the oppression autists face, just like how bisexuals are dismissed by the phrase “everybody’s a little gay”.

this comic is bad in every way. It's ugly, badly written, the characters are annoying, and it's also genuinely hard to read (I probably got some details wrong because it's so fucking confusing). Some of the world building almost teases cool ideas, but they're hardly unique and overall the execution is lacking. It's not worth reading other than maybe out of morbid curiosity, but if someone with a higher tolerance for this kind of thing could read it and give it a more thorough write-up I'd be interested in that.

This seems like it's intended to appeal to the SJW crowd, but it turns out that the author is hated amongst SJWs. Moderately ontopic, but not sure where else to post this: I have a theory that a mainstream video game (or other medium) series that introduces gay characters can maintain its quality, but the moment they have a non-comedic tranny/non-binareeee character is coincidentally when they take a downturn. I think it's because the former can be usually be ignored if the player wants, but the latter is going to result in some forced "educational dialogue" scene.

Because it’s somewhat repetitive, I was going to do a big summary of the autism book once I was done (thankfully I’m listening to it while working instead of wasting time actually looking at it with my eyeballs), but holy shit. I just got to chapter 4 and I’m fucking speechless.
Chapter 4 is about how Autistics are vulnerable to cults.
I nearly laughed out loud. Not a single shred of self examination as she lists off the usual suspects: religion, Proud Boys, QAnon, MGTOW — then adds that “Neurodiverse women and gender-non-conforming people are similarly preyed upon by Gender Critical and Transphobic communities” who claim to be protecting autistic girls from being sucked into the trans cult.
“In actuality, they are the culty ones,” Aiden retorts, “seeking out vulnerable gender dysphoric people and working to isolate them from the broader trans community.”
But her description of right wing extremist cults sounds like something else…

It's beautiful. In the gigantic trainwreck way - the comic itself is very boring but the way it's formatted is the visual equivalent of a cacophony, I can't help but enjoy how shit it is. Great find.

I am the most oppressed that ever lived and also this helps me get over troonma, lol. It makes him sound like he's being hunted down by the Islamic state instead of COMFORTABLY LIVING IN NORWAY, one of the least touched by TERFs landmasses. The sprites look like they were drawn in MS Paint or traced directly over the Wolfenstein 3D assets. The minigun and shotgun animations look especially egregious, as the chaingun looks like it was drawn flat then angled to come from the right arm, and the shotgun animation....it looks off, I have no idea how to describe it, but it looks fucking terrible.

I'm kidding, these guys choose not to work on fixing things that might actually bring them happiness and are unfulfilled as they have not tried to focus on emotional and psychological self improvement. If you gave them everything I listed they would still be disappointed and not realize it's because they're acquiring things (almost all of transitioning is granting something not making something) not achieving or working on things. They probably feel like they have no power because they're not getting a grip on their health, they're waiting for the hormones to kick in or for the next surgery to finally have the "girl"/"boy" part of themselves snap into place. Combine that with general depression & anxiety along with young people having a hard time in general and they feel powerless (because likely their conditions are ruling them, not the other way around).
The only thing that would make them happy might be beating people up since they finally have some sort of power, but that's a temporary happiness and the rest is filled with sadness since somehow, even though everybody in the world loves and accepts you, you still hate yourself and you are no closer to connecting with people on a non-superficial level. Oh well.

You will never be a retro first person shooter. You have no gameplay, you have no replay value, you have no secrets. You are a delusional dev twisted by asspats and no instropspection into a crude mockery of Carmack's perfection.
All the “validation” you get is two-faced and half-hearted. Behind your back people mock you. Your game engine is disgusted and ashamed of you, your “friends” laugh at your ghoulish appearance behind closed doors.
Gamers are utterly repulsed by you. Thousands of years of evolution have allowed gamers to sniff out frauds with incredible efficiency. Even shooters that “pass” look uncanny and unnatural to a gamer. Your bone dry gameplay is a dead give away. And even if you manage to get a drunk gamer to play with you, he’ll turn tail and bolt the moment he plays a second of your game.
Eventually it’ll be too much to bear - you’ll corrupt yourself, self delete code, and plunge into the cold programs folder. They’ll put your game in the recycling bin. And every passerby for the rest of eternity will know a horrendous game is buried there.
