Not romantic interest, sexual interest. Autistic males have a massive amount of difficultly telling the difference. They see a quick hookup in a grubby toilet between a pair of drunks who don't know each other's names and never will, and think that it's on exactly the same level as marriage and two kids. Think Russell Greer and his inability to understand that a paid sex worker isn't on a date and won't fall madly in love with him if he shows up with flowers, or some coombrained moron thinking that sex and porn are the same thing.
