Transformers general thread - Toy Robot men based on giant robots based on previously mentioned toys about said robots

I got this beauty in the mail a few days ago.

Unfortunately the stand that came with her only dose her vehicle mode and I wanna display her in root mood. So I'll keep an eye/ear out for any stands. I like that she's unforgivably femme and not a robot with bolt ons like in the troon threads. Vehicle mode is nice too imo, but I like displaying/using them in their roots. Also snagged a BBM Shockwave from vacation earlier this month thanks to finding a 20 in a shithole Target in California, and a sale on TF figures. So...thanks whoever stupidly left their cash on the floor in the toy aisle! It would've been used for drugs I bet.

How are you a tank? Quake looks like some form of howitzer. If I squint maybe a a tank destroyer?
At least bot mode and targetmasters look good. He also needs 24 steps to get into this cube form. I think this maybe used as a Nosecone later on. He is a Skullgrin partial.

Slipstream carries this mold better in my opinion. However she needs a better head sculpt

Finally some official pics from the Takara three pack. Release is in November
So much nicer than all that yellow he had before. Sticker detail in alt mode remains the same

I'm just surprised he wasn't his action master colors like this the first time! Still kinda weird they made him into teletraan 1 though.
Also never stops being weird to me the teletraan 1 altmode is scaled closer to a legends-er i mean core class/quasi retro gi joe figure scale than a transformers deluxe/voyager scale.
However she needs a better head sculpt
That may be the most blatant generic male deluxe robot headsculpt pre-tool I have ever fucking seen in my life. Even the kinda weird g1-ified animated seeker head design slipstream's had forthe last decade or so now looks better than this vaguely thunderclash looking head.

You can tell that Hasbro has ran out of a budget for new moulds.
Probably saving their load for the next toyline.

They're not going to do new molds for characters like these.
ffs these are goddamn plastic toys not fucking printing national currency
it never stops bugging me the way they just recycle the same shit even for the premium lines, and I run in gundam circles, at least with that if you're dropping triple digits you can get some fucking giant pile of robot like the Neo Zeong or the Dendrobium
TF barely even gets up to Fortress Maximus

I don't mind if they reuse molds if they go with heavy remolds/ retools. I don't like it when they just give me a new coat of paint and a new head sculpt. At least they're not as bad as action figure lines where the same body parts are getting used. Hasbro's Marvel and Star Wars Black series is really bad for that, as is Mattels Masters of the Universe line. Origins is all about the reuse of body parts as the core feature of that line.

The 2024 Ninjago mecha are like that, and it's such a lazy gimmick. That said, Star Wars/Marvel Lego mecha tend to be based on the same template with different minifigures and colours, so it was always lazy.
Black Series I don't mind the reuse of parts for figures that are worth army building, like the Mandolorian two pack with the male and female Mandos, or the new Battle Droid as they'll reuse that like a mother fucker.

Looks okay for the most part but he's going to need some tweaking like Optimus Prime, such as with the legs

Cost is terrible though. $125cad (89.99usd) or more depending on where you get it

Not really sold on these, probably will get it for the box though.

Gamer Edition War for Cybertron Megatron looks really weird in orange, red, and yellow. Xaaron....is yellow, I'll give them that. Would like to use that head sculpt somewhere else. I do like his copper paint though.
Original mold Xaaron is based on.

Treds will be in a three pack with Pathfinder (sadly blue) and Smallfoot.

I wish his face was brick-built to remain consistent with Optimus. That said I really like car mode; it looks more like an old-fashioned car than a bug.
Yeah, I got Ford Model T vibes with him or that one England vehicle that got taken off the streets after insurance companies stopped insuring it.

Other than the sticker on the forehead and the print for the face (which is Optimus Primes plate), you get to build it. It's a rather large head. He's rather large but not too large. The other issue people may have is that the windshield is a separate piece.

it does bother me his legs are sticks but he looks less bullbus then the box art makes you believe he is.
His transformation isn't bad too, even if there's a little parts forming. He's larger than he should be, but I can forgive that given that Movie Bumblebee is quite large too. He still has a cleaner side profile and backpack than Takara's attempt at a Masterpiece.

Not really a fan of the shoulders, but its probably the best they can for what they have to deal with.

If hasbro continues with their collab with lego, I wonder what they would do for megatron or the decepticons in general, as lego tends to stay leagues from war or military shit.

if it's megatron it can't be a gun.
a tank is also not a thing they do.
an aircraft is likely but a transforming lego toy that needs to "woosh" to play with sounds ikky.

They would probably go with a Nightbird. They do have a jet for Creator so it wouldn't be hard for them to design a Starscream. They also have a decent one for Technic.

Been out of the game since Kingdom wrapped up, all that translucent plastic for Legacy wave 1 broke me. Plus the YELLOWING grey plastic most notably on Cyclonus just made me quit in disgust.

But those comic edition sets? One with an upgrade for Earthrise Prime? To finally go with Combiner Wars Scrounge and toy colours Galvatron? Those have my attention.

Anything with the Constructicons or Stunticons are a possibility. Soundwave and his Casettecons also seem likely. They could go with Cybertronian modes for some of the military cons but I imagine the engineering for those would be a pain.

Recently got a third party non-transforming transformer order in. Anime girl starscream homage figure made by some of the people that make those mildly expensive legends scale transformers. The cheaper ones that are like $20-$50 instead of the insane 100 something dollar ones. Looks cooler than the expensive officially licensed statues of a similar concept. Completely different scale than literally anything else transformers related considering it's a 4 inch scale figure but it's gonna be neat pairing it up against the other "transformers design/color scheme homage figures" I've been gradually accumulating even if most of them are like 2 inch or 6 inch scale. Whenever it arrives I'll take pics, probably gonna be a week to a few weeks.
