I'd buy this custom tbh, I feel bad for the character being used as IDW's TF's sonichu tbh. His design has grown on me.

I feel like all of the designs from Earthspark make for better custom fodder except for maybe the truck. I don't mind the look of that character as is.

Tarn is a good design but eventually turned into a crappy character in IDW. Cyberverse he wasn't too bad when they wanted people to armybuild with him. Though I think if the series didn't end he'd turn out to be one of the old leaders of the Decepitcons or something instead of his own character.

The fact the he has a lil Straxus as a henchman is honestly the funniest thing I’ve seen since I came back. He’s even got his own pickaxe. Someone at the offices really likes Straxus, this, the cancelled Netflix figure, the twink Straxus figure that almost came out and the Pulse Marvel one

I think I'll look for a new head for Carcitron and repaint some areas. I just want Nightstrike as he's all my favourite colours. Sucks that he doesn't have a bot form though. While not the right colours for Shattered Glass Ratbat, he should still look good with SG Soundwave. Since it comes with Thundertron I may as well repaint him as well for Jaga.

Skybound is re-releasing the old Marel comics soon as large volumes soon. I think the first one is like 1-50 or something insane like that. They'll probably do the same with the UK stuff. Anything prior to 2018 IDW Transformers is good. After that it became a SJW wank fest because they knew they were about to lose the license. Dreamwave comics are good, but if you're new Transformers I'd avoid them as it's a let down that they never got to finish their stories.

Sorry, the Compendium is issues 1-44 plus Headmasters 1-4. Gets released next year. One thing I haven't liked about Skybound is that they seem late with their releases.

Skybound run is ongoing and very good, they’ll probably reprint more runs after the Marvel stuff, Marvel all totaled is probably gonna be three compendiums if they include G2 and Regen.

As usual there’s the comic sites where you can read for free, which you should for the IDW stuff, fuck those faggots.

If you want the best TF mini-series that’s mostly standalone then I recommend Last Stand of the Wreckers, you don’t need any prerequisite info (though there’s a few winks if you do know) it’s the best thing to come out of IDW’s tenure, even better than the Furman stuff.

It’s Transformers Apocalyse Now, a squad of red shirts are sent into the bleakest, darkest setting this franchise has ever had and the imagery is genuinely fucked up at times. “Work sets you free” is even snuck in there.

It’s also mostly obscure characters so that’s awesome, it’s follow-up mini “Sins of the Wreckers” isn’t as good but it keeps up the horror and continues things. “Requiem of the Wreckers” is an unsatisfactory, rushed finale that was missing a critical character due to an editorial stunt.

Even if you bought IDW comics it wouldn't help them. They've always been in the red and needed financial support from their parent company who likewise not doing too well. They were making comics at a loss and that's before they went and leased the various IPs which hurt them even more.

You know, I will give IDW2 one positive, it had a lot of dumb shit, OCs, lots of gays, peacetime, snail pace and making Optimus and Megatron politicians. Instantly making both less masculine.

But it did one thing I liked, it took Quake, a little-known Targetmaster from G1 who has one distinguishing trait that keeps him coming back……. His colour scheme is amazing. Seriously, he was even a character in the WFC multiplayer and in the Titans Return line he got meme status as a repaint who wore a mold better than the character it was intended for (Hardhead) and had better QC to boot.

IDW2 gave him an arc, based off his toy bio no less, as a violence-addicted berserker. He’s also getting a new figure with dedicated tooling and his minions.

Quake is one of those obscures that I could see going through the Barricade/Lockdown apotheosis and it’s purely due to his awesome colours. Love Quake, he dies in every series, it’s not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when.

So far the only small targetmaster that hasn't gotten a good figure was Needlenose and even he was decent. It's too bad that Windsweeper wears it better. Spinister is still a pretty good figure and should look good alongside Quake. He should get a re-release with his targetmasters though. We have enough of them now. Hell, Needlenose comes with a targetmaster that has the same basic shape his two.

I would be nice to get Landfill, Quickmix, and Scoop one day but we can't even get Hosehead, Nightbeat, and Siren headmasters. Though we are slowly getting the monster ones. Just need a Horri-bull

You’ll be happy. Next year’s Amazon line is Wreckers vs Mayhem, Spinister is coming back and Carnivac is in the lineup, my boy Ironfist is also listed.

I remember all the Scoops on clearance back during Thrilling 30, I love the little guy, I even got his Adventure Roadblock repaint. His Targetmasters are still the best.

Scoop is by no means a good figure, but he’s got charm. Especially Roadblock/IDW colours Scoop.

I wonder how retooled he’s gonna be, they’re also redoing Twin-Twist in the accompanying colours that Topspin was in during the Wreckers line. Guzzle is likely coming from the Quake mold, which is a W cause that little monster is my favourite of the IDW roster, love that little freak

Yeah, $230 loose with all accessories. $180 without them. Damn thing goes for around $440 sealed. Makes some old vintage stuff I got look tame in comparison. You can still get the two pack though for $110usd.

Kek, I love how Hasbro had it made with Siege Seeker repaints and not only has there not been a Sunstorm but apparently Nacelle who should’ve been a sure thing has mold.

I saw that thing for its regular price on Amazon, which for a seeker…… that’s usually rare and it turned out to have mold and it has to be washed out of the box. That Pre-War line on Amazon was all dog shit.

Well with the “eco friendly” packaging, that’s a good habit, I should set aside a wash day for these things.

I got Batboy, Bomb-Burst is one of my favourite Pretenders and…….. he looks like the wererabbit from Wallace and Gromit. Dig the colours and it’s nice to have a bigger version of his shell, but the custom I made from Botcon Battletrap will continue to be Bomb-Burst on the shelf.

They theoretically could have just made nova prime a repaint of Combiner Wars Motormaster like his model shared sculpting with in Devastation, but they instead made him a further retool of the Cybertron Optimus that was a Siege Magnus retool. I wish with the level of retooling they did that they actually gave him proper ankle tilts instead of keeping the forced A stance on the armored mode but I'm genuinely glad I got one before scalpers ER I MEAN THIRD PARTY SELLERS hawked and hoarded them.

Also my legacy scourge's smokestack snapped off a few weeks ago and I'm still pissed about it. Never brought that up.

Nova despite me hating that mold would’ve been a buy, but I got that insane upgrade kit for Battle Core CW Optimus that reshelled the figure and that thing is not only more accurate to the art but also bigger.

Same with the Megatron and Ratbat pack, Megatron Origin kicks ass but that Megatron mold I’ve seen too much of. He’s too small and dumpy, Megatron has never had a good CHUG figure, they all miss something. Hopefully SS86 gets him right, I’m not even a gun mode autist

The Siege mold and it’s offshoots makes him look squat and it’s due to his compressed midsection and small head.

ER was an improvement but it had a bigger problem with the barrel.

And they never make him white (unless it’s that Devastation-inspired repaint) they do the unpainted grey. White, light grey or silver, that shit they’ve used since TR for Megs has got to stop.

He’s the main villain and his minions get better treatment in the merch side of things than him.
