Transformers general thread - Toy Robot men based on giant robots based on previously mentioned toys about said robots

megatron wouldn't fit with bayverse asthetic
I'd say it would've been doable considering they eventually fleshed out and were going to use this design before they decided not to last minute with the bumblebee movie that was a weird quasi-reboot. Deleted post credits scene is like his sole appearance. I wanted the figure but it never showed up in stores by me and STLL HASN'T. Scalpers online want near 100 dollars for it. Starscream's unused concept art is the one the looks off to me here in terms of bayverse aesthetics. I'm glad the shockwave at least appeared in spinoff material. Who knows, maybe we'll get an official figure of that one someday. no, the bumblebee movie one doesn't count since he's prime shockwave. Bayverse concept art shockwave was an attack helicopter like blackout, albeit a different type. When he showed up in the 3rd movie they made him a tank but I can't remember if he ever actually used the tank form in that or just used the giant worm pet he had to do all his work for him.

I unironically like OP's design in AOE and Last Knight. (trash taste)
The slight redesign was neat, kinda making him a knight armor-ish looking more g1-y prime. Kinda like a mirror/parallel thing with what they were doing with megatron where he kinda starts like weirdly super detailed cut up g1 megatron if you look closely at him in the 1st movie but he gets farther removed and distorted further with each defeat. "Galvatron" in AOE just looks like a bay-ified g1 galvatron which is neat but at the same time they didn't do shit with him and the way he happened was just Megatron getting a new body built for him by guys trying to make a bootleg optimus out of his head and some magic juice out of corpses of dead transformers. Really kind of a waste.

I've been reading the Skybound Transformers comics and really like them. While I like what Idw did, its nice to have a simpler story to follow so far. I was iffy on the art style at first, but its grown on me.
I like that there’s no IDW OCs (so far) such a breath of fresh air. Especially compared to the nightmare of IDW2 where it was right back to OC donut steel and twisting established characters into something they’re not.

Cyclonus got ruined into two universes and turned gay.

I thought it was typical Image Comics indie/ small publication art so I didn't mind it much. That or Dark Horse Comics art. Feral does the same sort of art for the backgrounds by the cats are more cartoony. Humans also have the same style as Skybound humans. At least their humans have realistic bodies and don't twist in awkward positions like with EVS's Cyberfrog "art"

newages offerings.
I wanted to get some newage figures but the MSRP on them has shot up from $30-$50 to $75-$200 everywhere that carries them the last several years and I can't afford that shit, ESPECIALLY when the whole draw is they're articulated tiny figures and the other companies making stuff like that are still like the former price wise and have the same tier of quality going on albeit different engineering due to different designers. Youtube people naturally seem to always get copies early for "free" like every other thing that's price spiked to retard levels.

Core class was pretty great, actually looking and feeling better than deluxe most of the time, but even top tier figs like soundwave or starscream are worse than newages offerings.

Those awful Dinobots and the unwanted combiner really did a number on the Core Class, how many slots did that thing waste?

Only issues I've had with New Age and Magic Square so far is the plastic used but that's only due to the fact they're so small so they need a softer plastic in order to transform. Though if my hands were any larger then transforming them would be an issue anyways. They're not made for large hands. Same issue with Iron Factory but they don't have nearly as many panels.

Those molds are believed to be a pre-deco for Dinoking. I hope that's still happening.
No word on that yet but given they want to get rid of some size figures if they give us "shells" they could charge Deluxe or Voyager prices for them.

Thundertron’s other release (WHY ARE THERE TWO?!)

That fucking rock monster looks like a lil Straxus
One's a standalone voyager, one's a "leader" bundle 3 pack IIRC. It's like on top of the weirdobsession with making main characters exclusives they also pull stuff where they got cool figures in these weird fucky bundles.
The thundertron seems identical save for the extra guys so honestly I'd go for this onefor the funny rock monster and bat. They got a vibe about them that's kinda stronger than thundertron.

That’s the weird part, look at Thundertron’s head and hand, he has retooling.

Ah, so it's the fucking shit with Siege Impactor all over again where the amazon box set one had a different head based more on IDW than g1 and extra little caution chevron detail not in the standard release that probably should have been since it was sculpted into the standard one too with like no other changes aside from that.

I see that more people are turning this figure into Rung. I however painted ours with a more orange copper colour and a 3d printed head. I used resin so it wouldn't look so blurry. Not a fan of dying figures myself.
I'd buy this custom tbh, I feel bad for the character being used as IDW's TF's sonichu tbh. His design has grown on me.
