Optimus is the least fucked in terms of looks from that show, at least they just made him a weird bald robot guy and not uh... No leg haver.
Beast machines at least does something pretty cool by having Megatron fight Primal using his strongest form from beast Wars while primal's still in the same fucked lower power bald dude state he's in during the entirety of beast machines.

Youtube's been on and off just having this isolated action bit pop up in my recommended the last few months. Probably one of the few things this show did well.

I remember it was a kind of common custom people made back in the day, getting a megatron head from one of the beast wars figures and cutting up the optimal optimus head so it fit inside. If shapeways didn't kill themselves there would still be smooth 3d printed custom heads easily available since I remember there were a few floating around for the remake one from a few years back I missed thanks to scalpers.

Honestly with all the fucked up beast machines redesigns, it's really funny how Megatron's still just the transmetal II version of himself or a weird giant floating head for a little (that had a figure which turned into normal but kinda armored beast wars megatron despite him never doing that). I know there's the whole plot reason for that but they really could have shown the de-powered maximals a bit closer to their normal appearance. As I said earlier primal's like the closest to his beast wars design save for the head. It wouldn't fix the whole show but it'd at least help the visuals a bit

They've done even more minor retools than that over the years. Usually it's a running change like making titans return hound/swindle's gun able to port on the back as a shoulder mounted weapon or adding some weird support somewhere on a re-release to prevent breakage when that happens but there's no way they wouldn't be able to do Optimal megatron.

I don't have a resin printer, and the places that printed smooth clear plastic are now dead ON TOP of POTP primal still being scalped for over 100 dollars on ebay several years after the fact, so I'm just not gonna get this really cool accurate 3d printed Megatron head I just found on google images somebody made for that figure.

Speaking of drill tanks, I cannot recommend Twin Twist highly enough. The treads can fold up to become wings, and it's a Headmaster too. This is the non-exorbitantly-sized Transformers toy I feel is most like a playset, and that is wonderful.

I have all three colour schemes for it, rather like them and Topspin though Topspin needed a third colour scheme. I also have one of each repainted as their foreign counterparts. I found Hasbro did a better job with those twins than they did with Pounce and Wingspan who were some of my favourite figures when I was a kid.

titans return just was an awesome toyline, i think it only had two bad molds; galvatron and broadside... and in galvatron's case it's because of the helmet gimmick.

My dad's birthday is coming up and he's a huge fan of Top Gun. Might get him that gimmick figure that dropped back in 2020. QC might be shit but it's more of an emotional investment than anything for him. He'll let me display it in my collection. He likes to share things like this

Glad I'm not the only person who preferred Beast Wars to Prime.

I've tried to watch Prime at least twice, but I always give up halfway through season 2. Noseless batsh!t cokehead Megatron is boring, Optimus Prime is also boring af, & his leadership is so awful the Autobot faction is genuinely too dumb to live (like, the show spends so much time establishing the Autobots have an agreement with the US military - why not, IDK, ask them to help secure energon mines so they don't have to scavenge for Decepticon scraps, or just ask them to shoot the Nemesis out of the sky with a guided missile?) . Also, the human kid characters are awkwardly shoehorned in, and the Arcee/Jack ship tease is especially gross

No idea why the show is so highly regarded on the internet/by content reviewers/etc. I wonder if people just feel obligated to like the show, because they like its figures/designs (gotta admit, the TFP Soundwave design is fire).

The figure is also conveniently scaled to gi joe figures given it's a drone. They actually made a 3 pack with two recolored as BATs and a figure of Cobra commander in his "old snake" alias he used in his transformers g1 cameo.


I REALLY wish this wasn't a con/sub service exclusive even now 9 years later. Never not gonna stop being kinda pissed about having to just sit and watch people squaton them for 100-200 dollars forever. The BAT version of soundwave should have been a standard release, it'd have sold like crazy. No clue what the fuck hasbro's been smoking the last decade with all this expensive/limited exclusivity shit for stuff people would actually buy a ton of the things. it's LITERALLY an army builder made for use in both transformers and gi joe.

Arent the prime figures shit too? The BW figures are still pretty good today, especially later toys that are almost 1:1 to the show.

No, First run figures though were better than the second run of figures as they more closely matched the show. Worst figures they had were probably the combiner they had for the Terrorcons

Anyway, I saw that Spike and Carly are getting actual figures. Looked sort of like G.I Joe figures, but it was a small Pic and I didn't have my glasses. I wish I got a screenshot of the video. I'll try to find it later, if I can.
