Transformers general thread - Toy Robot men based on giant robots based on previously mentioned toys about said robots

Straxus according to shipping is really close to me but says some bullshit about "wait 3 days for carrier to update" or something. Guy's been in my state right nearby me cycling the same few areas for the last 2 days on rapid fire before that though and it pisses me off a little finding this out lmao.

Death's head arrived REALLY early despite saying it'd arrive by 10 PM today or tomorrow. I'll get some probably shitty/rough quality pics out soon with him next to the toy/comic color Galvatron since I've only ever seen him next to the kingdom version in reviews and comparisons. Both of them have small detail and color inaccuracies that make them suit each other I think and it'll become more apparent what I'm talking about once I get my selects Galvatron out from wherever it is.

Before I get started on Liege I gotta finish up my Dark Matrix display. I got a cheap TLK Primus that I gave haunting green eyes to and green highlights in the molded in damage and crevices in robot mode. For the display base I’m chopping up one of those clearanced Mcfarlane Toys Violator figures he made thousands of that didn’t sell cause Spawn sucks. I’m making it like pic related to look like it’s posesssing Cybertron.

All because of Kingdom Rodimus out of left field being styled after Marvel/Regen Rodimus and wielding the sword. Regeneration One doesn’t get the recognition it deserves.

We still need Thunderwing, he’s the last domino I want to fall, I got Straxus, Jhiaxus, white Galvatron, Marvel Optimus comes on the 2nd of October and IDW Bludgeon is following.

Thank god there was a reply while was editing my post or the textwall would have gotten worse! Gonna have tot write everything up again though since I forgot to copy before refreshing.
These figures seem made for each other despite the outfit not being the OG green vest death's head design.

Still don't have a proper photo taking area years after griping about it, but I had some silver cardstock that resulted in a neat effect when I took a few pics. This one came out the best though so it's the only one I feel needs to be sent.

They're generally the same height, with death's head just being ever so slightly taller than Galvatron. Both Galvatron and Death's head seem to be based on slightly off model appearances. Galvatron's got the obvious Purple crest, and there's some weird not too robotic fleshy hands on Death's Head. The hands being colored blue as if he's wearing gloves here too also adds to that "miscolored comic panel" vibe though it was probably not entirely intentional things ended up this way.

They'd never do this with their current pricing schemes but they really should just retool leader class skyshadow into him. I was thinking that was coming when that figure came out a few years ago, but then it never fucking happened and didn't get the chance to make a custom because everyone was scalping that figure despite it being an overlord retool meaning it had an inaccurate but cool addition of a separate tank leg alt mode.

EDIT: A retool of jhaxus might work too though considering his inaccurate altmode s closer to thunderwing/black shadow. Just don't half ass it like the vector prime one.

Galvatron’s purple crest is due to the mold, it’s on the purple sprue. They didn’t paint it due to laziness and the scuff from the transformation.

Thunderwing would be fine as a commander, honestly I could see the Titan size class being sunset to make room for another Commander in a year.

I could see him being in the next “trilogy” since its’s themed around the Prime dynasty and Thunderwing was a prime in all but name. Plus he got cucked out of a new fig eight years ago during the last Prime line. They know we want him.

That Unicron was going to be a large statue, would be one of the rare times I get a statue of something that's not a dragon or a beast that I can use for an RPG, though I could use that statue for the Transformers RPG.

saw the movie, apart from a few points it was very good.
-why do they find long lost very important information from alpha trion inside bumblebee's imaginary buddy?
-the elite guard just turn on starscream after eons of conflict just because d-16 beat his ass in what, 5 minutes of him showing up?
-why would anyone folow megatron? prime revives the planet, gives everyone their cogs(even the female transformers lol) i can understand that some woulf folow him for actualy taking down the tyrant sentinel, but still.

Man just watch the new transformers movie yester and it was everything i wanted from the series. It was just a long overdue origin story. This made me love tf again go watch it.



-this bumblebee reminded of so much of g1 youngster snark lol



-d16 becoming slowly megatron over the movie and him beating up starscream. (Truly a megatron moment)



-orion pax and d16 friendship



-elita 1 characterization was good. Not too girlboss idw. (Why haven't they explore optimus and elita 1 relationship before? Besides g1 and bay comic and animated i guess)



-sentinel being a fake ass prime and being a dickhead is always welcomed



-megatron accidentally shooting orion



-also didnt see windblade in the background which is good (death to idw transformers)



-orion becoming prime was definitely best part of the movie very powerful moment. Music and all

After all of that, I felt good knowing that transformers is back and its here to stay. It was really worth the 40 year wait.

-Its scrap disposal, so it probably made it's way down from someone related to the operation that led to the death of the Primes. It's just convenience to move the plot, don't dwell on it.
-They make it clear that they follow the strongest bot, which was Starscream until D-16 crushed his throat. He also wants to kill Sentinel, so that makes him their ideal leader.
-Because they had been under the foot of Primes for so long they have lost any respect for the current hierarchy and do not believe they should be led by Primus's chosen anymore. The leader should be chosen by the people, and not their creator. Essentially the Decepticons believe in a pseudo-democracy/dictatorship where the strong lead the weak, and Autobots are religious devouts that follow the will of their god.

the problem is that sentinel was not a chosen prime, that's why the matrix rejected him. not entirely clear if that was ever said in his confession, but that optimus actualy has the damn thing should be a hint enough that he is not like sentinel.

I hope this is the “Evergreen” Sentinel from now on, I love unrepentant villians and him having some Homelander (season one of course) flourishes made him fun. Even more than his TR iteration. Plus the design DNA of Nominus Prime, Animated Sentinel, Sunbow Sentinel and WFC Zeta/Sentinel showed that they did their research.

Plus it did it’s job and made me put down a preorder on his Voyager fig. That Tarn reissue couldn’t have come at more perfect time, they had to know what design could also be used for on a shelf now.

They knew the assignment.

Only four people know why the Matrix even disappeared in the first place. To everyone else on Cybertron, it just went missing and Optimus found it. At least the way it is portrayed, it seems like the general population has no idea of it's mystic properties. But again, the Decepticons no longer have any desire to follow a Prime.

I got a package today that I'm 100% sure is straxus, might do what NO INTERNET REVIEWER HAS DONE APPARENTLY again and take a photo of him next to the cel shaded optimus and megatron from a few years back since those are the only other figures I have with that kind of paint scheme. Love those but really wish the megatron had some more black on him and I don't feel like customizing mine to have the black.
