That was Bombshell that got upgraded and Skywarp become "Armada" that was never seen again. Though I do like the fan theory that Cyclonus got the intelligence from Bombshell and the loyalty from Skywarp.
IIRC it's kind of like the constantly on and off alternating Rumble/Frenzy colors. it became a running thing to reference it being nebulous due to a number of factors of how Cyclonus is designed/was handled.
Same, sadly that's not the case. Skywarp was the better looking character and to this day when it comes to characters people are like "fuck the insecticons" except when it comes to the toys then it' "we better get all three at this scale!".
It isn't due to people hating the insecticons, ESPECIALLY bombshell he's one a lot of people like from what I remember. It's more that Cyclonus' personality and how he's generally treated is more Skywarp than bombshell despite that one intro thing having bombshell be the first one to go into a Cyclonus in the animation where they get upgraded. It gets weirder later too because there's moments where the characters that were reformatted in that iconic scene appear alive alongside everyone in the background/group shots still or are referenced as dead in some episodes. Surprised that never got worked into some actual weird plot thing years after the fact like a lot of stuff has.

Hoping Sentinel's not just an Astrotrain recolor because siege Astrotrain is kinda short compared to other voyagers, something that has been pointed out when he came out a few years ago and people's most recent Astrotrain was the one that was meant to be both him and Sentinel prime. I know a lot of people didn't want to get it because of the height, Blitzwing was kind of a similar situation too, but I generally like Legacy Blitzwing, missed paint apps on the sides of head and inaccuracies to the g1 model aside. They managed to combine the toy and animation model into something in between though that pissed a good number of people off because most wanted one or the other. Maybe it's just my preference for the design philosophy of old style masterpiece figures I never got. You know from back before they changed to the purely toon aesthetic. Back when they were more "affordable" at like $50-$150 and not like $120-$500 MSRP. CHUG right now has basically just been that on a budget since Siege save for some exceptions, and the"over-engineering/feature removal creep" from the slavishly toon MP era is also seeping in as prices keep going up. Been over it before but the most horrendous cases being Tidal wave requiring you to completely disassemble the figure omega supreme style so he can have a half assed base mode that isn't his actual base mode, and Armada Megatron's shoulders/half hearted paintjob.

@Anonymus Fluhre , Could you possibly show off some of the customs you've been working on/talking about? I don't have anywhere near the right environment to get into airbrushing but I've been gradually accumulating some small supplies for potential customs myself the last few years.
