Transformers general thread - Toy Robot men based on giant robots based on previously mentioned toys about said robots

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Age of the Primes wave 3 is up for preorder. Estimated release date is October (but probably 1-2 months earlier.)

Watching the reveal stream from earlier. They mentioned that there is some kind of "reward" for collecting all the Artifacts of The Primes, probably some way to combine them or an upcoming figure that can use them all.

Next year's Titan is listed as a Studio Series release.
Doesn't necessarily exclude Primus. If you recall from Transformers One:

It's more palatable to do small periodic raises then infrequent massive raises.
I don't consider 10 dollar price increases "small" given you can get a pretty decent non-fast food chain meal for that price (because fast food places now want $20 or some shit for their garbage in some places).

Why has every price jump the last 5 years been 3 to 10 dollars each time? now ay I'm gonna be able to afford any of this shit lmao. Both kids AND adults are getting priced out of this shit now.
All companies are doing it.

The slow death by a thousand cuts increases are a financial epedemic and are actually worse in your day to day products that aren’t luxury items on Amazon. They quietly, every week notch up the stuff when the new prices come in from higher up.

Seems small, but then you remember that it’s 50+ items in every retail store, every week, across all departments, for almost five years now.

Trust me, with my situation in life I'm REALLY feeling it lmao.

I work in the beef business currently and it’s absolutely fucking insane what your average grocery store can ask for a Prime Rib that has no marbling and was clearly from a cow that was not ready to axed.

What the vidya industry is doing is just catch up. The delusion from luxeries is thinking they can play the same game. Hasbro is being soft-liquidated so the insanity makes sense.

In a way it solidified my decision to just cut back on everything, especially with how triggerhappy they are with reissues and reuse now.

Okay so I got 86 Springer from Amazon. But he was bought via 3rd party on there but he came with his box and everything. But there's gold paint on him. I'm going to try to fix it up but I think it was added on in an attempt to highlight his shoulder parts. But all I ask is why

In the end, can't really complain too much. Got my very first triple changer! :woo:

The seller shipped you the siege version, I'd put in for a refund and report him.

It's clearly someone's attempt at custom painting a siege one though, given the unthinned craft paint on the yellow parts. This kinda reminds me about hwo a few years back i saw a siege megatron at a target that somehow made it back to shelves that someone had spraypainted silver and red and then repackaged. I almost bought it but I didn't, kinda wonder who did and if they noticed.

EDIT: Speaking of Megatron, there's now photos of the ss86 megatron next to a shorter voyager I found. Said voyager being the third party megatron that came out recently.

He almost looks like a knockoff compared to the third party one when posed like this.

So now I know he's extremely out of scale with every figure ever thanks to him being sized up to pair with ss86 optimus. I'm 100% sure this new megatron scales with the combiner wars constructicons. I don't have any images of them side by side but knowing the height of both of them and how oddly oversized those were at the time they came out they're like the only non-optimus voyagers of the last 10 years he's gonna look good with. The ss86 constructicons being undersized is gonna be a lot more egregious standing them next to this guy.

Sorry I gotta double post!

I finally got a titan coming that isn't a 20 something year old figure, it's a 10 year old one! (oh god it doesn't feel like 10 years now fuck hell shit)

Mildly concerned about certain grimy bits in one photo (not posting the photos the guy sent), but I got a used reissue of the CW devastator they did a few short years ago off a guy that didn't want his anymore, and for a price I could actually afford. Would have preferred the takara one with standard articulation and purple hands, but that wasn't the one they decided to reissue. Kinda makes me wonder what happened to those molds since they went back to the hampered articulation one instead of doing that thing they've done with their g1 reissues where each reissue has a little feature that stays each time they reissue the figure, even when in standard colors. I did this because of figuring out SS86 was just a downscaled version that kinda sloppily swaps out long haul's legs with a new trailer that bumps the price up to nearly 300 dollars bothered me immensely, and I was initially going to get a knockoff that was hilariously the same height as the new studio series till I noticed something very important. The studio series was undersized for both the individual robot modes and the combiner. Sure, it scales with other combiners that way, but I forgot the constructicons are generally weirdly shown as near the same height of or at the height of megatron and other "taller" characters.

It looks weird because of their big blocky heads, but if my cheapest option is the figure I missed out on the first 2 times around with a guaranteed full team, I'm gonna get that before getting any studio series guys. Was burned before with the bayverse studio series one and menasor a few years back, NOT GONNA DO THAT AGAIN LMAO.
By the way "voyagers" come up to devastator's knees often in the show even with the fucky scaling

If I wanted 100% "cartoon accuracy" I wouldn't be collecting these guys. "Modern-y stylized takes on the characters with specific scalings" I very much like, and noticing things like this scaling wise after getting a figure that I've been aiming to for years now just makes CW devastator even cooler to me.

if I got the UW version I'd be able to recreate this scene lmao. Alas, my ass is not capable of paying nearly 300 for a used import transformer team.

probably rambled a bit too much but I'm out of it today.

EDIT: To make things clear, I JUST RECENTLY bought the REISSUE figure that came out a few years ago just now off some guy that got the reissue when it came out a few years ago. I didn't buy the reissue a few years ago. My wording came out a bit weird looking at my post again and I'm too lazy to fix everything.
