With the Japanese crossover figures everything ends up being Optimus Prime & Megatron, for the Basara Crossover I think Blaster would have been a better fit.

I've been cleaning up devastator in small intervals over the last few days with these lemon wet wipe things because I have no clue what the fuck else might work without submerging it in some shit and possibly destroying the pins or plastic. There's a lot more spots of gunk and weird black hair stuff than I thought when I started. Briefly disassembled him into the individual bots. freaks me out but it doesn't seem to be spreading anywhere (hopefully) so it's likely just lint and some sort of mud.

Been too dead to set up stuff to take proper photos but I really really like this set of figures. Only wish the front chest bit of combined mode and one of the arms tabbed in right but I might be doing something very slightly wrong. I really like long haul in particular and I don't get why people frame it like the new one's more accurate when it still has the ludicrously wide body but just smaller legs that don't even fold in on the hollow back. Just wish I had gotten the version with elbows but can't be picky since the only reason i could get this was how cheap it was in comparison to that other one and the new one.

EDIT: By the way, has anyone in this thread gotten the ASTOYS iron general? The slightly improved/cheaper clone of 86 optimus? Been looking at the nemesis version the last few weeks and thinking about ordering it off some ebay guy. Saw a few reviews where they complained about stress marks/tolerance issues on the torso but also saw others where that doesn't seem to be an issue. 30-40 something is better than 100 for a voyager and more within my price range in general, even if it's not official.

Also if they did this officially it'd be some fucked up price hiked limited exclusive or just not distributed/mysteriously only given to scalpers like the recent "leader soundwave" but that's another story.

I've found that the only store that reliably stock leader class figures is Gamestop, Walmart doesn't stock them at all anymore, and Target barely gets them.

I've never seen transformer figures in gamestops by me. I know apparently canadian ones are filled with them and bizzarely get the SDCC/online event exclusive figures the last several years but in the physical stores. Naturally, as I am not someone who can just venture into canada to find fucking action figures I'll just have to deal with not being able to even wait for a potential discount on the thing and just deal witht he fact I'm never going to have the modern style buzzsaw, living with my THREE FUCKING LASERBEAKS FOR SOME REASON. Because I am not paying scalper prices or the default asking price for legacy united soundwave, nor am I gonna pay leader prices to a reseller for buzzsaw. Fucking hell!

The only place I have even seen Nemesis, Ark and Tripticon in stores have been at gamestop.

I saw it once, and I obviously could never afford it at full price. Slightly beefy voyager with a hollow plastic trailer should not equate to 100 dollars. I've seen used copies of Mp10 for that price, and those would be a lot more worth it I think.
 
TFOne is actually pretty chuddy if you consider Sentinel selling out the Cybertronians to the Quintessons as an allegory for the Elite selling out the rest of humanity to Satanist Aliens. It is pretty ironic as well that Sentinel in TFOne basically takes on the role of the human villain from Dark of the Moon, just instead of selling out the human race to the Decepticons, Sentinel is selling out his fellow Cybertronians to the Quintessons.

Forgot to update on this, but a while back found ss86 galvatron for a decent price online, and now with this when it arrives I'll have every version of kingdom galvatron released save for the battle damage-less legacy reissue. Mildly insane to have so many of the same character but much like the siege megatron retools and repaints I just really dig the aesthetics of these specific figures. I STILL HATE the fact that even the ss86 one doesn't use the paint budget from removing battle damage to add paint to the side of the feet and the red to the top of the pauldrons, but that's just how it's gotta be I guess. Whenever I manage to get a proper display going somewhere I'll probably cycle them out every once and a while.

Looking forward to the metallic and grey instead of flat and gunmetal edition of "megatron but purple".

In terms of Kingdom galvatron, beyond the missing paint apps on every version, I kind of wonder if the initial release caused the current situation with every version after (save straxus and the clear purple one I guess) just not selling. Everyone got the kingdom one, it was hoarded by scalpers for a bit (especially the versions from the batches with properly assembled shoulders), and then they came out with batches with correctly assembled shoulders and repaints but everyone already had their fucked up shoulder copies and didn't want to drop another 50 on it (80-100 if it was a reseller) So they just never sold and the prices fell as a result. It's either that or they over-produce each batch like they did for TR overlord, Still kicking myself over not taking advantage of when those got down to 25 dollars because it's all just scalpers hoarding them now.
