Scourge/Black Convoy's colors are really disappointing to me.

I really like the Menasor though. Looks a lot more coherent than the CW one and it's bigger than I thought too.

I'm late as fuck to getting SS devastator, is there anywhere to get overload for a non rape price?

Check your Facebook marketplace first, Kapowtoys may still have some but you'll have to put up with international shipping and VAT but it's probably cheaper than Ebay prices.

Usually I'm not a fan of some of the Iron Factory figures unless I want some Cybertronian forms but these look pretty good.

I wish they were to scale with the other legends class figures out there.

That Liokaiser really irks me, they just sculpted the breast animals onto their chests and didn't even try to do the gimmick. it also looks like they'll have a crapton of combiner kibble compared to the original.
still looks nice but the functionality seems extremely lacking.

You know these are smaller than legends size right?

Great looking figure… except holy fuck those inner shins. I think that’s worse than Newage Megatron’s back. Surely they could have figured out SOME way to make it look… not like that?

Probably not without clearance issues. At least it's built in such a way that a leg filler can easily be installed and the grey plastic seems to be standard so colour matching shouldn't be an issue. I tend to give such a thing a pass for smaller legends class figures as gaps and such are hard to work on. I will not however do so with a higher end Transformer figure like an MP that has the budget to fix such issues.

Also, notice how those legs are built/ molded too allow for a filler piece.

I know that, but the originals were also tiny. I can understand there being more combiner kibble for the sake of articulation, but the exclusion of their tit buddies just screams lazy.
and besides combining the breast master gimmick is their defining gimmick, so lacking that just makes them less interesting as a whole.

The originals also didn't have to worry about intricate transformations and that would carry over the breast pieces too, they would have to be able to look as good as the figures themselves. Plus it wouldn't look good, just look at the small Ramhorn and Steeljaw they made. They're basically cubes.

Whether its the show or the toys the breast animals are essentially a plank with limbs and a head that pop out for 4 of them and a plank with wings that fold out for 2 of them, regardless of size its incredibly simple. they add very little mass onto the chests, what they have right now is sculpted and proportioned to look like they're on there anyway. we've seen incredibly intricate third party tapes done at legends scale, and they have to be a specific size to fit in soundwave's chest and turn into a perfect rectangle.
I just think its a cop out. I'm sure the figures themselves will be quality, I've had Iron Factory stuff before and its decent, but design wise this is fairly disappointing to me.

I hate to break it to you but brick formers have been dead for a few decades now. Apparently never saw the amount of work TFC put into their breast animals. This is what people would expect even at legends scale. At such a small scale it wouldn't work. If they tried it would be just as fragile as the headmasters were for Unique Toys.

By the way, the tiny "tapes" you're talking about fall apart easily. Don't believe me, check out Magic Squares attempt. They aren't meant to be transformed often. Why? Small hinges can break easily at that scale. Their Ravage also has an issue with the head breaking easily as it's on a thin piece of plastic.

Good thing you know nothing about engineering.

TFC's were over engineered and ugly as sin, not to mention not even accurate in every mode.
what do brickformers being dead have to do with the fact the original breast animals already looked like they did in the show with only 7-4 pieces to them? they're literally chest plates with legs or wings that fold out, TFC overcomplicating them doesn't suddenly turn them into rocket science.

plank with a bull on it, vs whatever the fuck TFC tried to do.

I had 4/6 of the tfc liokaiser guys, and they all had weird ass fucking design choices. I remember that the tank guys were particularly egregious and unpleasant to convert. TBH the only actually good things about that set are the tiddy guys and the greebles. I just want mastermind creations to take a crack at them (and give me fucking deathcobra you fucks)

any Deathcobra would be an insta buy for me just for the novelty, even if I wouldn't buy the rest of the set.
I kind of wonder how difficult it would be to mangle a G1 Hellbat into a helicopter, could be a neat project.

After seeing what they did with their Deathsaurus (and how long its taking to come out) I'm afraid of what it will look like. TFC's version isn't bad and it's easy to find on sale. Planet X could probably do a good job on them but they haven't worked on a combiner yet. X-Transbots too, but I wouldn't trust the QC or engineering.

I'm kind of shocked MMC hasn't done one yet considering the gimmick for their combiners is being all self contained and stuff.
but knowing third parties they'll do every other combiner before the one that makes sense. I can't wait for the 24320th Devastator.

My favorite LioKaiser is the Combiner Wars one because it was reasonably priced.
this is a reasonable opinion. The CW one made all of the overused molds feel fresh. The skylynx redeco was truly top notch.
Snagged studio longhaul, rampage, hightower, scrapper, and the DX9 Devestator upgrade kit for $130 total. Did I do good?
