People keep going on tangents about these so it's about time we had a thread for them.

Transformers are these small figurines that can turn into vehicles, animals, and sometimes guns! People like to collect them for various reasons. OPL even famously used a megatron pistol to "curse" people!

Share thoughts on Transformers below, post pics of your little macho robo dudes, whatever you wanna post here as long as it's gotta do with these guys.

Recently I've been getting into these things again slightly and got a few of the new "combiner wars" ones. Specifically Megatron and Starscream, and there's a few others too I got when the line started in the old "collector general thread".

Starscream is taller than megatron somehow and that makes me kinda glad some people put out massive leg extenders for megatron. leg-atron? Either way the leg extenders look pretty great. Starscream also comes with his infamous crown from the original animated movie, but it's red bits are mostly unpainted. I fixed this with some cheapo sharpie paint that miraculously was the exact same shade of red they used on the crown despite me not checking in advance. Only thing wrong with this guy is the fact he's got no shoulder vents and no wrists. This can be fixed with some light modding, and i aim to do that at some point.

Speaking of Megatron, I now own both of the US versions of The combiner wars Megatron, and the g1 version has modded hands installed. They're third party masterpiece Optimus replacement hands. Kinda funny how this Megatron's default hands are the same size and shape as masterpiece prime's. Masterpiece prime is one of those figures I'll probably never be able to afford, so it's nice to be able to add some $7 hands to a figure I can afford. I really like how they managed to pretty much just make an accurate G1 Megatron homage with a G2 tank mode homage and Armada mini con ports for putting cars on his shoulders.

I'll post some pics later, I don't have the camera out.

Transformers are robots. They're cars too. The robots turn into cars. They make cool sounds. The robots are called transformers because they transform into cars. Cars go "vroom vroom" and move fast.
There is a transformer that turns into a cassete player. he is not a standard transformer because instead of going "vroom vroom" he drops sick beats. because of this he is an outcast amongst his people. he thankfully found companionship with the transformer that turns into a gun.

Fine, I guess I'll be the one to break the sperg barrier and post a pic of a small part of my collection (taken in my old apartment with a shitty camera)

Mostly generations stuff with a few random pick-ups.

I finally took some pictures of the figures I mentioned in the OP. Coincidentally the leg add-ons for Megatron just recently arrived as well. There aren't many large flat areas (aside from the floor) so I improvised by taking pictures on the questionably priced leg and shoulder add on's box. My camera has this tendancy to de-focus via autofocus right as it takes a picture, and it's annoying as hell.

These new leader class figures are honestly my favorite adaptations of their G1 counterparts. I kinda botched up on adding the red lines to Starscream's bot mode wings, I aim to fix it later.

Combiners still stand taller than both Megatron and Starcream, though I couldn't fit all three of the figures in this shot. There was a really nice sale that lasted a few months on Hasbro's official site a while back and it's the only reason I managed to get a whole Bruticus. The only figures I've seen in proper stores are the autobot combiners that are made of non-combining characters, and the MSRP for a deluxe is now almost the same price as a voyager for some reason.

There's a hobby shop in my general area that sells movie merchandise and used transformers. They sell new ones too, but some aren't that "new" (there's an entire shelf of unopened beast wars/beast machines figures and it's fucking surreal) The point is I got a figure from a box set scalpers sell for over $100 for $10 instead. They had the other two as well but the only one I really wanted was this guy.

This little guy's a weird one, his cannon arm is supposed to be plugged in in a way that hinders articulation, but if you do that it pops right out of it's socket. this is an issue with every version of this figure as far as I'm aware. I got this version specifically because it's my favorite variant. Another weird thing about this guy is no version of this figure color matches both halves of his cannon.

Kind of a shame there's not really any deluxe class homage to g1 Megatron. I guess you could say the same about a leader class Galvatron if you don't count the Energon "ultra" figure.

That Galvatron was a STEAL for $10 (I had the vastly grayer Universe version of that figure from way back when and I don't know what happened to it).

But here's some random TFs on my long-overdue-for-a-dusting entertainment center.

And speaking of which, I was going to take some of the TFs on my computer desk but that shit needs dusting too because there's crumbs everywhere. But hey what do you expect, I don't get a lot of company on account of the fact that I'm a grown-ass man with a transformers collection.

I had this ant beastwars transformer in elementry school and during recess i was playing with it on the tube slide. Only there were a bunch of girls hiding inside it that saw the shadow of the ant through the plastic, who then ran out screaming and tattled on me and i got in trouble. :(

Further proof that feminists have been trying to destroy our secret fort for ages!

Don't stop I'm nearly there

I finally recieved this guy I ordered a while back in the mail today. it's a limited edition purple and gold variant of an unofficial figure based on an official design that never got a figure. My first third party figure, and probably my last, because this one was marked down to the price of a normal Hasbro figure.
Of fucking course the one time I buy one of those "high end figures" I get one with horribly noticeable defects. The visor he comes with will not stay on, his feet already have stress marks and popped out as soon as I opened him, head cannot transform unless I make sure he's still in train mode when I flip it, and if I'm even more unlucky the the weird "scratches" in the paint out of the package are probably some sort of toxic mold. (probably not) Still, I love this guy. I've got like five different vastly offensive nicknames for this guy based around the fact he has a purple turret in his trailer that's unintentionally REALLY phallic looking thanks to the fact they had to use a different shade of purple for the tip because it becomes a jousting rod. I think he looks better just using the train gun he comes with as an arm cannon. He's even got a tiny matrix of leadership in his chest but i couldn't get a clear picture of it.
I tried editing the photos to slightly mask the fact that i'm just taking the pictures in various parts of the house, that and I wanted to get back to trying to edit custom backgrounds into photos again. i got kinda lazy though.

Excuse me but that's not a vey polite way of talking about the best transformer.

Blaster is pretty awesome.

I've always had a soft spot for Hooligan, mostly because he was one of the first transformers I ever owned. And the tiger stripes, those look kick ass.
