Transformers general thread - Toy Robot men based on giant robots based on previously mentioned toys about said robots

I'll likely get several Devastation Sideswipes so I can customize a few. Retro inspired figures are likely just slight remolds for the head.

I saw in a few places that SS86 galvatron is just going to be another repack of kingdom/legacy galvatron which is kind of unfortunate. Equally unfortunate I missed a chance at getting one I saw on ebay that had all the upgrade kits on it I wanted and will now have to pay some insane price if I want to get that for a sane price i can afford.

Not going to take photos but right now but I'm fucking pissed. My straxus figure out of nowhere developed a massive stress mark on the leg. Now you'd think this would be a misfired pin or some other weird shit like my shattered glass optimus probably was with the shoulder getting a stress mark through the entire fucking part to the point of breakage but NO. It's in a spot where there is no pressure, no pin, nothing. I looked this up and found no info on if aside from one TFW2005 photo which mentioned nothing about it but seemed to have a stress mark forming in the same spot the person photographing the thing didn't notice.

It's the upper outer spot on the right leg, if it makes any sense. The spot usually partly covered by the galvatron leg fins that are omitted on straxus. Thought "oh maybe it was one of the twist ties that did it and I didn't notice" but no! there was no twist tie on that part of the leg! Why the fuck is such a severe stress mark tot he pointt he plastic is turning stark white on a spot where there's no pressure or stress, nothing connecting either. It's not a thin part either, it's possibly the thickest part of the leg plastic. Fucking pisses me off and I don't want to pay 60 for a damn replacement, let alone scalper prices I can't afford whenever it sells out on pulse.

EDIT: Apparently looking at the photos from when I opened it, it already had the stress mark but it was less prominent. Still big here though.

Once they do a Powerglide we can get a full on Sakamoto Go-Bot shelf going on.
Or at least SS Bumblebee into Bug Bite.
I turned the four pack Bumblebee into Bug Bite since being a Go-Bot character he should have a more realistic car mode. I do wish they could make a proper head for him so he can OG but oh well. Funny enough my paint job chips less than the Bug Bite they did. I'd like to get a Goldbug head so I can make another one into a Silver Bug Bite.
I also need to get another Cliffjumper to turn into Rest-Q.

Transformers One has plenty of robot-on-robot "child-appropriate" murder, and I hope it has the same impact on some kids as BIONICLE 3 did on me: "look at all this awesome violence, death and pathos, this is so much cooler than stuff with people in it!"

Still, it's a kid's movie: the pace is breakneck, the plot is driven forward by coincidence whenever the writers couldn't get from A to B smoothly within a tight time budget for all the ground covered, and the humor is often obnoxious - but at least the humor does not insist on undermining otherwise serious moments as occurs in Marvel movies.

I can only assume that Star Convoy being the next titan means it's gonna be a little bigger than commander class with a much more complicated transformation than the usual titans.

Probably not, the original was a base for micromasters so this will likely come with several.

Got Bludgeon and Uncle Ruckus.

Ruckus doesn’t feel like a modern fig, he feels like something from TR or CW, his transformation is simple and is finagly. The retooling is impressive but they should’ve used a different mold.

Bludgeon is my first experience with this mold, transformation sucks but the robot mode is hyper-articulated so I’ll forgive it. He looks great alongside SDCC Orion and Megs and they’re all in scale.

Brave Commander Optimus Prime is a far better figure than what America got for One. I just hope Japan works on a Megatron that's the same size to go along with him because the one we got is ugly. Only real issue I have is the tiny wheels and some clearance issues but those aren't too bad. Due to all of the tabs it holds together well.
Hot Wheels Ultra Magnus looks a bit shit.

Yolopark Tarn. Depending on it's size it's likely going to be my Tarn on the shelf. Not like I need him to transform.

I disagree! That trailer is impressive. I hope they've made it so that you can stack a car on top and it will be stable.
I've seen better car careers in the past from them. I think they limited themselves by keeping it too narrow to put a car on, not to mention it's too small. If you put a car on that, the car will look massive. If they increased the dimensions they could easy put four Hot Wheels on him like the original G1 figure could. Missiles on top are also too large.

Since it was a special occasion, i decided to get some Alternity figures (Ultra Magnus, Thundecracker and Galvatron). Also because i love the idea of higher-dimensional robots blitzing through different timelines, dimensions and utilizing powers related to space-time and reality reformatting

Though i do wish there was a Alternity Soundwave, Alternity Shockwave would've been cool too. Funnily enough it's also one of the only toylines where i prefer the Autobots to the Decepticons design-wise

Got SS86 Prime and damn, he’s good. Like this is the final Optimus, this thing is gonna be separated from the trailer and resold for years to come.

I can already see it, an SDCC version retooled to have a right arm that can be swapped with a Megatron one, the Nemesis repaint, one that reshells the robot with something (probably IDW1) less Sunbow, numerous reissues, battle-damaged and dead.

Kinda wish the trailer had the 5mm ports of the ER version, cause storing blast effects this way is kinda spooky.

The nice flat colours make him look very nice alongside the comic edition figs, this was a good year to come back.

Not related to SS86 but fuck Mark if that Star Convoy thing is true, redo Metroplex, Powermaster Prime, Commander Fort Max, enough with the jap shit

I took myself and my little sister to see Transformers One last weekend and we enjoyed ourselves fairly well, would have been cool to see some other future decepticons like Blitzwing and Lugnut be apart of Sentinel's posse rather than just Airachnid and Darkwing though.
Our Transformers One blankets you can get from the States theatres came in, Creamcicle has decided mine is hers so she will drag it all over the place.

I think the future Decepticon warlords would’ve made sense as Sentinel’s goons, animals loyal only to the biggest dog. Much like real regimes, the figurehead changes but the guys behind the scenes stay the same. It also makes the Cons less sympathetic if Sentinel’s cronies weasel their way in.

You know, the future pains in Megatron’s aft, Scorponok, Thunderwing, Straxus, Bludgeon, Thrust (Armada) and for shits and giggles, Darkwing’s doomer bestie, Dreadwind. Those two retards brushing shoulders with Megatron’s axis of evil is a funny image. Starscream is the Goebbels to Megatron’s Hitler but at least he falls in line after a beating, those dickheads have been against Megatron since the 80s.

Alternators shockwave exist, it uses the jazz/mazda rx8 mold and its one of the best figures in the line.
