Transformers general thread - Toy Robot men based on giant robots based on previously mentioned toys about said robots

I've been wanting to switch out my bookshelves for some Moduspace cases for awhile now but they're pricey and you have to wait a long time for them, so my wife this year got a CAD designer she knows to design one from T-Slot aluminum and bought enough to completely replace my old set up. It was likely far cheaper going this route than going with Moduspace case and got some better lighting from Adafruit. Even have cases in my office for some of my painted miniatures I keep in there for games. The cases in there though are a bit slimmer than ones elsewhere as they can't stick out too much or they wont give you much room to squeeze between the table in there. Spent most of my time not cooking/ baking on Christmas setting that up after I set up my daughters new PC, At night I started transferring over everything to the new shelves. My father and my wife's father though helped set up the shelves so didn't take too long. The old shelves will likely go in the garage.

Trypticon is getting reissued in cartoon accurate colors.
Edit: Hopefully they fixed the hips ratchets on this version.

One the one had I like that it's more toon accurate and just overall looks cooler and more threatening than the TR version, but on the other hand I don't like the seafoam green joints all around the figure. I might get it though. Hopefully this means Hasbro will reissue the Titans to be more toon accurate and without stickers/battle damage.

$229.99usd isn't so bad for how they look. I still want to know about the quality of the plastic but J-Decker looks great.
This looks a lot better than the other one that was announced a while back where Deckerd had really low articulation. It looks a bit small for the price, though -- it should be $150 max.

He's 8.3" tall which makes him .2 inches taller than Magic Square's MS-04 Munitioner for their MP Bruticus so he's an okay size but too small for a trailerbot. He should be 12inchs which would be the same size as Naval Commander. However, these are licensed products so they had to factor in size for the price, as well as the parts (quite a bit of metal there) and the price is also due to it being a licensed product. Something that's $229.99 from a 3rd party would be much larger. MB-15 Naval Commander is $219.99 and he's 12.6in. Hopefully it does well and 3rd parties see that there's a market there and make more figures from that line. The model kits out there were, while nice, didn't get too many characters done.

So the only real issue DX9's Red Storm (Sideswipe) has is that he's a little taller than MP Sunstreaker. Other than that, the transformation is fun and the back is clean. though his windshield is behind him so be careful with that as it's right against his back, and he has great articulation. Fans Toys Stuticons are massive compared to him though still as they towered over MP Sunstreaker, Sideswipe mold and Prowl mold. He doesn't feel like he'll break like a Xtransbot figure nor does he feel like he'll crumble into dust like their figures either.

My wife got me the new skullgrin.
i have no idea why she would get me a random toy for christmas, and i think she took it because she could tell from the head i did not have it.
not the best toy, but the head at least stands out.
Funny skeleton

later batches of the original (released in the us too!) fixed the hip ratchets but I have a hunch something will fuck up like how the reissued combiner wars devastator used the earlier mold for some reason instead of the fixed version that released later exclusively in japan. I also really don't like how they clearly cheped out on some aspects despite the prie bump. The shade of purple looks cheaper for some reason and the parts made as translucent intentionally for aesthetics are just solid flat featureless blocks now due to the sculpting being inside the thing. Also the price is an issue, the original went on sale for 40 for a bit and I'm still kicking myself over missing that. You'd think that happening would tell them to NOT releaseit at an evenhigher price than the first release but heyyyyy whatever!

can both stunticons be swapped on the legacy menasaur? i'm thinking of getting the g2 deadend and having the other one on the other and having breakdown on both legs with one of them being the g2 redeco.

Yes, the G2 recolors are the exact same mould. The only limitations on these new combiners is that arms and legs are not interchangable because of the ports they use.

Was a hit and a miss with finding figures in the southern states this year, but I did find some TFOne decals that were pretty nice. Also ordered the Yolopark set of One's cast, hopefully they come sooner than later. But you know how Chinese couriers are. There's an animation book coming out with sketches and commentary on the 40th Anniversary animation. Need that. I also saw a Matrix replica at Walmart, but I wasn't digging the design so I didn't cough up the 30. Wish they would do a line of each iterations' Matrix or other key props. Like the Convenient from BW or the key from TFA.

i mean like two deadends and two breakdowns. it would make getting them all to make a "full" menasaur significantly cheaper right now.
