Transformers general thread - Toy Robot men based on giant robots based on previously mentioned toys about said robots

Nice proportions, He looks concerningly small and hollow and lacking in a ball jointed neck like the stunticons. (Seriously look at the hand holes in comparison to the hands and the fact the upper legs are just those exposed mall mushroom pegs). Also looks to be continuing the trend of "deluxe at voyager price point". This is made even more unfortunate by the fact of how big ss86 megatron is so now he's just completely out of scale with everything in this supposed definitive series due to cost cutting shit like this.

Oh yeah, definitely tiny. I guess the only way to get a g1 starscream and megatron that scale well together is liteally any combo of figures over the years that did that. The new "leader" megatron is a tall voyager at 60 dollars and the "voyager" seeker is a deluxe at 35 dollars. madness. MADNESS! They look like decent figures regardless but you'd think with how much they go on and on about scale accuracy the last few years they wouldn't be pulling this shit, especially with a character that's whole thing is fighting with his boss every other episode lmao.

I kinda wonder if it's less egregious with the newage megatron given how that one's a short voyager. (and also one of the only third party figures I managed to get for below msrp the last 8-9 years or so... or really at all.)

Height seems alright to me though the Seeker mold should be a bit shorter. They only go up to Megatrons shoulder.
I personally prefer "near eye level but ever so slightly shorter" for the g1 seekers.

Can't do shit like this if they're too small.

It should be about that height, Megatron's legs are slightly bent.
Yeah, there's also the angle and postitioning to take into consideration. Then there's also the bent knees. Hopefully we get a new Soundwave one day that's a bit taller than this Starscream but a little shorter than Megatron.

Leader class SS86 Soundwave is coming out next year and will be revealed later this year.

EDIT: According to the designers SS86 Soundwave will scale properly with Kingdom Blaster.

Last I heard about that was that it was just the old one. If they are making a new one than that's great. Tapes should get a decent resize too, though that will suck for Dr Wu.

The designers have said it's an entirely new mold, and it scaling with Blaster means it should use the same size cassettes.

I think I'm doing pretty decently gradually building up "definitive-ish modernized g1" guys the last few years. I already pointed out earlier how CW devastator's combined and individual bot modes being voyagers is actually closer to how they're usually depicted (though a little oversized due to being tall voyagers). I really and I mean REALLY appreciate the newage romulus figure for actually scaling with the other voyager decepticon figures from the last few years that have been great but weirdly short.

I'll probably get one but I've already got the siege, earthrise, and dramatic capture ones. Speaking of those though I just got reminded how a bunch of siege figures had blatant pre-tooling for earth modes only for the earthrise ones to not only NOT use that pretooling but fucking leave the vestigal shit from the siege cybertron modes. I kinda wonder what kind of shitshow went down behind the scenes that led to that. There's third party kits that let you turn siege soundwave into a cassette deck as a fourth modeand it's literally as simple as adding a slider to the mushoom peg area. Maybe it's just the shit where hasbro seems averse to any kind of slide joint the last few years for no explainable reason that's responible for that case, but there's also other inexcusable shit like Siege starscream having pre-tool elements for earth mode and then ER starscream just being an oversized KO of the old generations figure.

Rather see larger cassettes just so they can do more with the transformation. It's why I prefer MMC's cassettes over the smaller MP scale ones as they just look better. I still get MP scale ones to fit into Acoustic Wave though just to get that look. Though it would be nice to get something between the two. Some characters are too large in the larger scale cassettes while others are near perfect. Their Ravage looks good with Hound for instance but the Laserbeak and Buzzsaw figures need to be smaller, about half that size. If they do a Ratbat (its been like two years since they showed it) then it being large will look good as he was quite large in the comics.

Given how long it takes Hasbro to get cassettes out I don't want them to start over again, it took 4 years for them to release a Ramhorn to go with Blaster.

That's usually the case with Ramhorn. He's not seen as important as Steeljaw even though he enjoyed almost as much screen time as Steeljaw in the series. He was the second last figure from MMC with Ratbat being the last. I'm still waiting for an official Overkill and Slugfist and until I get one I'll have to settle for the Dr Wu ones. I doubt we'll ever see an official Squakbox and Slamdance so again, I have to settle for Dr. Wu. Which is sad because they aren't very good in terms of quality. Still waiting for a Decibel and Legout from them. Though they'll likely have the same QC issues.

It still took them 3 years to release Steeljaw. Also, Dr. Wu released their version of Decibel a while ago, it has the most issues of the 3 cassette combiners they have done, the top and bottom don't tab together very securely and the heels are too small. ShowZStore is sold out of Decibel but, TFSafari still has them in stock.

Oh yeah, for some reason that colour scheme reminds me more of Slamdance than Decibel so I forgot they made one. The Dr.Wu DW-E55T needs to be more a lighter teal, almost baby blue and the red should be a more pink colour or the red from their E55 release. I guess I could always paint it myself as it wouldn't take long, but I have an already impressive pile of stuff to paint. EFFT is almost accurate to the 80's toy in terms of colour though, not the reissue that I prefer the colours of as it more closely matches some comic style art.
