The campus of Middle Tennessee University is in mourning this week after a student reportedly took their own life on campus.

21-year-old Serenity Birdsong died by apparent suicide in the university library on Monday, according to the Murfreesboro Police Department. Birdsong, a transgender woman, served as vice president of the MT Lambda, an LGBTQIA+ and ally student organization at MTSU. The university canceled classes on Tuesday but resumed normal university business on Wednesday.

“Serenity was more than an officer to us, many of us considered Serenity our friend, and her ability to light up a room, paired with her wholesome demeanor made her welcome anywhere, but especially in Lambda where we are burdened by the darkness of existing in a world so often cruel to us and it is this darkness that snuffed out Serenity’s life,” a statement from the organization posted to social media reads, in part.

MTU student William Dawson told local WSMV News that he spends hours in the library and never thought the building would be the site of such a terrible tragedy.

“I was really heartbroken to see someone who, I just wished they saw that there was still more time and there was still an opportunity to feel better,” Dawson told the outlet.

Dawson said Monday afternoon took a turn when he heard an unrecognizable sound.

“There was a noise that wasn’t immediately recognizable as what it was, and then, we all kind of stood and eventually realized and saw what was happening,” Dawson said.

The university held a vigil for Birdsong organized by the MTU Student Government on Wednesday night where friends and students gathered to remember the 21–year-old.

“I think this right here proves to all of us that she was loved too, even if she couldn’t see it at the time,” a friend of Birdsong told WSMV.

Another friend of Birdsong added, “Serenity may no longer be with us in person, but her memory, her laughter, her friendship, her love will forever be a part of who we are as a community.”

Signs and flowers were placed outside the library in remembrance of Birdsong. Student speakers shared messages with the crowd, many encouraging them to seek mental health support and that help and counselors are available.

Dawson told WSMV that he hopes the messages shared at the vigil help save someone’s life one day.

“I think people should become more and more open to the idea of finding some kind of professional help when it comes to mental health, to realize that you don’t need to become another tragedy and that there’s so much opportunity to be happy,” Dawson said.

A GoFundMe has been set up to help raise money for Birdsong's partner. The GoFundMe states that neither Birdsong, nor her partner, has any close family and they are trying to raise money to help with the emotional and financial stress of losing her partner.

"As she grieves this loss she is left reeling with the emotional and financial implications of losing her partner. We want to provide her with the time and space to grieve without the burden of financial stress," the GoFundMe said. The campaign has raised over $19,000 of its $20,000 goal as of Wednesday.

How much do you want to bet he left an angry suicide note blaming his parents and/or girlfriend? He wouldn't be the first troon to try to punish someone with his own death.

Good point. This was center of an occupied university library. He could have gone out a murderer as well as an attention whore. Fuck this guy.
Wouldn’t surprise me if he was the abuser.

As noted earlier in the thread, someone posted on preddit that the troon killed themselves over an abusive relationship and that the person who started the GFM is the abusive partner. They also claim that partner has been banned from the Lambda group by the remaining officers.

Serenity no-ACK!

Who wants to bet the "unrecognizable sound" was his bowels letting loose into his panties as his brain functions came screeching to a halt?
Serenity Birdsong (Troonus Splatticus). A flightless species; its distinctive warbling call was recorded shortly before it went extinct:

I might even agree with you, if he hadn't committed suicide in front of as many people as possible.
I never understood the charge that suicides are selfish. Many suicidal people believe that the world would be better off without them. But suicides that grossly inconvenience or traumatize anywhere from dozens to thousands of people? Selfish completely applies to them.

I feel bad.
Not for him, but for the people who had to witness a suicide.
Malignant narcissist commits final act of rage. Love that the guy who drove him over the edge gets 20 grand. It’ll surely help him groom and transport a new victim.
Though at least thats one less troon democrat vote in that state for the election

....who am I kidding, we all know the troon definitely did a mail in vote before killing himself
I demand that vote recalled the dead dont get to vote what he wanted doesn’t matter anymore
"Birdsong" sounds vaguely Native. Cultural appropriation tbh.

Oh fffffs, what a dick, lmao.

Friend: "Here, let me help you work through this life problem you're having."
Dead guy: "Nah, I'm just gonna jump from this balcony we're on right now. Byeeee."
Reminds me of old Tom Tooter and his obsession with Indians. Trannies are in a constant search for cultural credibility, and they can’t have any, ever.
We need to bring back bullying.
We’re like, the aol.com of online bullying. I like it,

Thanks, BirdSong BananaPhone. This was a lousy day, and your little ray of sunshine was lovely.

For every depressive who just wants to fall asleep and never wake up, there's someone with other pathologies going on who wants to make someone in their lives pay and suffer. It's relatively fortunate when such a person does not also attempt homicide on the way out, but that is common enough as well, you can recognize the type.

"The world would be better off without me" is a self-absorbed sentiment, and reflects fixed self-pity at one's circumstances and pride and weakness that one chooses to die than exercise personal agency and find some measure of repentance.

Even if true, it still amounts to, "I am too much of a coward to face the consequences of my actions."

Think of the poor janitor that had to clean up the mess.

That library carpet didn't deserve that!

This doesn't make me happy. This makes me fucking angry as hell. Total Psychiatrist/Psychologist Death. Burn their pseudoscientific bullshit books and research papers then throw the authors on the pyre while making their families watch.
There's nothing wrong with psychology or psychiatry. There is a lot wrong with how the field has been totally subverted for decades now by communists. Both fields, psychiatry in particular, are disproportionately Jewish.

"Serenity Birdsong"
Should have gone for "Serenity Swansong."

Minus several million style points.
Suicide isn't typically something you do on a whim; Birdbrain here got lucky by deciding that two floors were good enough and still beat the odds. Were there no other tall buildings in the university?
I guess he just decided he was fat enough that the fat would take care of it. Or maybe he thought he was pulling one of those breadknife wrist slash "suicide attempts" and hit wrong. Even small falls can actually kill you. And even long falls (to a limit) are survivable if you actually have a plan on how to land. And that kicks in if you make an attempt because it's virtually impossible to turn off survival reflexes.

So my guess is fatty just didn't realize how much his fat would contribute to his crash landing.
In addition to this, there's every chance that someone could have randomly walked under him as he fell and ended up as collateral.
You probably didn't intend this but I busted up laughing at the sheer thought of an obituary where they try to come up with euphemisms to explain that someone died from being crushed by a falling troon.
There are all these signs people have zip-tied to the railings like "You are valued" and "Don't do it!"
If I were there to off myself I'd laugh at those. If there were also one next to them saying "DO A FLIP FAGGOT" I might reconsider just not to satisfy that particular asshole.

The unrecognizable sound witnesses heard was almost certainly agonal breathing, Serenity Birdsong's death rattle. Even hearing it with context removed--on a recording for example--it's the most disquieting sound in the world. There's an unearthly quality to it that makes the hair at the nape of your neck stand up. It's horrible.

Here's the only "anti-suicide" advice I'll ever offer. Make a pact with yourself that you'll actually write a suicide note before killing yourself and leave it to posterity.

But before you do it, I dare you, read it without laughing.

If you can manage that, then maybe self-administered euthanasia actually is for you.

It implies the arrogance of believing your presence or absence from the world even matters. And it's narcissism.

The sound of one of your kind dying is terrifying because it usually implies that whatever did that is still there and could do it to you, too.
