Transgender Video Game Character-Baldur's Gate

I don't mind games having trans or gay people. As said before it's just annoying when it's their whole character. I love the Dragon age games, but it was stupid as fuck that there was a quest where I had to convince a party members dad to accept his homosexuality.

it was particulary grating because his dad was the only homophobe in the setting.

Sera was a gay character done right. Even if her character was obnoxious at times she had traits other than lesbian, and she doesn't even bring it up unless you hit on her with a male character. With Dorian his whole character centered around him being gay.

The character screamed out to me like a feminist power fantasy. Like I still remember how they justified making her look like a goblin by trying to say they were making a statement towards how people in video games need to look beautiful.

You know, it's sad that this rather poorly shoe horned in character has to exist and clearly did so for ideological reasons. I've never seen a single review or complaint that's attacked the Trans character for being Trans but that it's a shitty tokenism character, especially as there's research ongoing that points to 3% of GGers identifying as Trans.

Especially as the whole of gaming is literally littered with good examples of trans/gay/other characters.

One of the best ones I've come across would be Kian Alvane from Dreamfall Chapters. It's dropped into part of the casual conversation in one of the episodes that he prefers men. Largely from the cute, pushy female character, and just like that there's a bit of hilariously awkward dialogue but it fits because of how he speaks on it, at first he's incredibly vague, stating he's "never had the time" to find anyone.

After you've been running with the rebels for a while Enu gets a bit pushy and it backs Kian into a corner on the topic of sex and it just spills out in a hilariously awkward piece of dialogue that just fits perfectly. Both for the setting and the character.

Thank god we can just avoid this crap.

I wasn't saying she was a great character. I never even used her. My point was at least she had a personality beyond "look at me I'm a token lesbian." Even if that personality was annoying, it makes her a better character than Dorian.

As far as that elf goes, she looks like she took meth along with having a thin coat of grease on her face.

Actually, GamerGate and Anti-GamerGate cares. The former showed with a lot of videos @CatParty posted in the GG MRA thread that were relevant and the latter has individuals who think the tranny abuse Baldur Gate video is serious business.

why doesn't it upset you guys that obviously metroid was tranny?
Dammit, Metroid is not a tranny, it was Samus who is a tranny.

Actually a metroid in a wig would pass better than the trannys covered here on the farms. (ADF, the ratking members, etc)

Sera wasn't that bad. I thought a lot about her made sense. Mouthy teenage brat who grew up too fast, looked appropriately awkward for her age, trying to do good in her own semi-retarded way like most people her age, and an autistic fixation on making things stick to how they should be with no room for long-term planning - again acting just like her age. She seemed quite well-written to me, flaws and warts and all.

Yeah I don't really give a fuck about all this sjw/tranny whatever bullshit. I don't need an half-assed addon for an 18 year old game, especially not one with subpar writing on the level of fanfiction.

What actually bothers me is the new 2.0 patch and how they ruined the entire inteface for BGEE and BGEE2...and why the fuck do all of my characters have 25 strength now? I saw Edwin oneshotting an ogre with his quarterstaff yesterday. There's also problems with previously completed quests no longer marked as such, like when started the game yesteday and Coran bothering me about his wyvern thing if though I did it ages ago.

Not to mention the new, terrible black borderlands-like outlines around every character in the game and multiplayer being broken. Again.

Edit: Apparently, the 25 Str is a "feature" related to enabling story mode (which I didn't enable, the game did this by itself) and not a bug.
