How widespread is this Transvestigation stuff really?

I ask because I've started going to an anti-lockdown thing in the UK, and one of the group's main organisers is a True Believer in this shit. She's brought up, more than twice now, some random celebrity she thinks is transgender, her latest suspect being Princess Diana (1961-1997), and people really seem to agree with this. I for one never thought I'd get to hear this stuff IRL, much less from a sweet old lady with a mobility scooter. I thought it was an Internet thing!

For what it's worth, several other members of this group believe in some equally wacky stuff, like chemtrails and 5G death-rays. So I guess the group self-selects for this kind of thing.
