Hello frens.

I am about 24 right now and I really want to travel more, call it an early midlife crisis.
I am mainly making this thread so people can give each other recommendations or advice about locations you live at/visited.

Thinking about going to Vegas myself just to get that real american vacay experience.

Most large American cities aren't worth visiting, the real quality is in smaller cities and towns or the massive variety of nature and parks throughout the country.

If you still prefer a city, I recommend New Orleans provided you aren't an idiot and stay out of the rough areas.

I wouldn't call it any kind of crisis lol.
You're right around that age where many guys start to have a bit more money, stability, and agency, so it's natural to feel like you should start having more experiences.

Vegas can be a cool experience, but it is going to be expensive, regardless of if you gamble. Everything in Vegas is over priced, and don't try to penny pinch too much because it will result in a notable decline in quality/enjoyment.

I'd say this actually goes for most vacations/traveling, if you're not familiar with a place, don't just make decisions based on how cheap something is. $50 bucks a night could be the difference between being in a shithole Airbnb 15 minutes outside of town, and being in a decent hotel in the city.

Well, what do you want to see?

Culture? History? Food? Nature? Nightlife?

Even if both are worth visiting, you don't visit cancun for its history and you dont visit vatican city for its nightlife

So it kind of depends on what you want to see or do.
Are you okay with colder places? Or do you prefer somewhere warm? Maybe it doesn't matter?

If you are into something like history, rural Georgia is very beautiful along with the Gergeti Trinity Church. It's quite the hike, but it's worth it, and I think they have shuttles if you aren't into hiking.

I am down for anything.
I need to get out of my country man, I need a new experience.
When I am going to vegas the first thing I want to see is the Vegas sphere or Omega Mart

travelling isn't exactly cheap so for the best experience, should atleast have some idea of what you would wanna travel for.
Then again, you can make it as cheap as you want but I wouldn't recommend that for your first time travelling.

Where are you from? Or atleast, which continent, because otherwise this is a bit tough to answer

Because like, I'm European and for other Euros i'd recommend something like london or berlin for their first time because it's huge and easy to do compared to smaller or more niche places, they're both also quite broad so it doesn't matter whether you go for history or parties.

It all depends on your budget too, but that can be kept low by not travelling TOO far.

Im Dutch.
England and Germany is full of retarded people.
Belgium is amazing, but I really want to go overseas this time.
Vegas this year seems to be very cheap (Like 600 or 750 if you want a hilton hotel) for an all exclusive for 10 days, only have to care for food.
Want to keep my budget at 1500 when I get there.
How it looks right now I am trying to get a buddy with me, still unsure though.

Oh that's kinda unexpected, ironic

Plus flights though. That alone tends to be around 1200 euro
You also need an ESTA though that's easy enough to get
And transportation. You're either going to go with uber or rent a car. I've been to LA, Americans don't do public transport unless it's NYC or similair
Want to keep my budget at 1500 when I get there.
So 150 per day? Not bad. Especially if you get someone to join and they add another 150 or so

Either way, US is a good choice then. Easy enough for a Europoor to get into, offers a different experience than what Europe has without many risks, really.
Why vegas though? lol

Even better, Its plus the flight.
What? How?
750 euro from nl to vegas and back, plus hilton for 10 days???

Meanwhile KLM costs like 1300, to and from vegas

Unless you mean per night, but then you're getting ripped off

You get on a plane to belgium airport then straight to LV.
There are many dates that arent really popular that you can hunt for, surprisingly near christmas being real cheap.

Necro'ing this thread out of a desire for GOOD COUNSEL: I will be live action IRL re-enacting The Hangover 2 ™️ very soon , anyone have any wisdom to share regarding Bangkok?
I'm shocked by how CHEAP everything has been so far with the bookings and such, I do expect to get ripped off when we actually get there though.
And yes, I'm going with a friend, but it's not that kind of trip, more elephants and temples than ketamine and ladyboys.

Actually on the way home from Orlando right now! 12 hour road trip yay.... :c The fam and I spent 4 days collectively at Universal Studios, Universal Islands of Adventure, and the brand new Universal Epic Universe. I can say that Epic was by far the most enjoyable. Better rides, cooler structures (Mario and How to Train Your Dragon were insane), friendlier staff etc. If you are a theme park enjoyer then give Epic a try.

I did go to Vegas once. As a teenager tho so I didn't gamble or anything haha. We stayed in the Stratosphere which was fun. But for some reason our room was STINKY as HELLLLL and we never figured out why. We literally bought air fresheners for the room :lit::'( Good trip tho. If you go to Vegas, there's a nearby place called Valley of Fire that's like a state park with rock formations and cliffs and trails and whatnot. That might sound uncool but I swear it was fun lol
