The other day I found a girl that seemingly tags EVERYTHING as a trigger warning. In some cute/innocent graphics she triggered things like "tw: food" "tw: FUCKING FLOWERS" "tw: sunsets"...

Flowers are triggering now. i'm just amazed.

I remember on an anime blog they tagged anime with with "TW: anime". I've also seen trigger warnings for water and the color red.

This is the weirdest one I've seen in a while. It was just a cat sitting in a cooking pot looking happy because you know, cats like to sit in things.

My favorite is "tw social conduct." (like what? Having manners? Wearing clothes? There is never clarification)
Makes sense that having common manners triggers them; probably explains a whole lot!

The concept of triggers always amused me. Oh sure, there are things that upset anyone (If you don't at least go a little ew over someone having their head run over, you have problems) but posting what those little tics are on your stupid little otherkin blog always screamed to me as putting a kick-me sign on your back.

By the way, if anyone posts brushes I will get triggered and get REALLY ANGRLY. This is your only warning here!

haha see, this is what I mean. If brushes actually made me unnerved, I just painted a big target on my back. Asking your followers (most of which pro don't actually know you as anything other then a name that reblogs memes) to tag THING THAT BOTHERS YOU just sends a message to people you don't like to you know... not.

Huh. Although I am good with the overabundance of cheap brushes I have though. Thanks for this.

Not to devolve the subject off topic though. Why is it often that triggers are for very little things such as well, flowers... sunsets... brushes? I mean I'm joking but some are really banal like that. If a thing like that makes you unnerved or remind you of a tragedy you had then fine however you should really work to immunize yourself from them.

I mean I have serious 'triggers' myself (I think we all do) and most of the really naggier things I've ether built up a resistance to or just shrug and ignore when they come along.

I think it's a case of "The more unique your trigger the more unique your personality" Being triggered by say, Spiders, is dull, lots of people have arachnophobia and get a bit creeped out by spiders or pictures of them. If you want to be that one shimmering perfect special snowflake in the blizzard you have to be truly Speshul and therefore telling people you're triggered by say, images of people eating ravioli or some bullshit like that gives you that air of mystery. Also because it's just so tempting to "trigger" these people it gives you an almost infinite supply of oppression points that you can spend on an army of people to trollshield. This then further perpetuates the snowflakes belief that he or she is somehow worthy of the attention which forces them to create even more outrageous triggers to continue the cycle of bullshittery.
