This guy popped up on my YouTube algorithm for the past few weeks so I figure I'd share since his stuff has been pretty entertaining.
He's a gaming YouTuber who started off doing pretty mundane gameplay vids. Like playing with some self-imposed challenges in Dark Souls, GTA, Skyrim, and so on. His views were minimal, no more than 12K at their peak.
However, that all changed when he started his "Can you beat Minecraft as X" series, starting with: "Can you beat Minecraft as a Reddit Mod?" in January of 2024.
The series is exactly as you can imagine. Try to 'beat' Minecraft (originally it was just to kill the Ender Dragon but recent videos have diverged on this) while playing as a specific character or archetype as a self imposed challenge.
Troglodyte goes out of his way to make the experience as authentic as possible, even modding his Minecraft game to have custom models, items, and mechanics to really complete it. He also would then bring along other players to increase the challenge, usually in the role of a Running Man-esque challenge where they will try to stop Troglodyte from beating Minecraft.
All things considered, the series was very tame at first. Reddit mod, Discord mod, trying to beat Minecraft with the average height of a SEA monkey, etc.
But he quickly diversified into more interesting topics...
Here are my Top 5 videos from this series as a nice starter. In no particular order.
