I'm gonna keep this shit short, but what I think is fucked is the fact that if you don't count Megan S. (which I don't), Chris' entire love life is a lie and a complete fabrication by strangers on the internet.

So I think there are some recurring arguments and points being made on here.
One is that we're all just as bad as each other simply by virtue of being here. Examples:

chris never picks out one specific troll he only ever refers to the cwcki or the cwcki forums. to post in or read these things is the most active way to troll him. all else is just secondary.
the only way to feel above such "trollings" is to not post or support the sites. by doing this the reader will stop the need for "content" therefore stopping people to go out and get it. if anyone wants to point fingers, they should blame themselves as well.

There's no ethics in trolling. Anyone who tries to justify it with either A-Loggish reasons (he deserves it!) or white knight reasons (I'm actually trying to help him!) is just making excuses for doing something that they know is morally wrong, yet also enjoyable (for a variety of reasons). I think the only standard that's useful when evaluating the trolling is: "Is it funny or ween?"

No. Just... no. There's a difference between posting here and desiring content (and as has been pointed out, Chris palates said desires on his own) and even supporting the forums financially, and going ahead and creating a web of lies around Chris.

Sometimes I do feel it goes a bit too far. Some of Chris' trolling efforts have reached Truman Show-esque levels with people impersonating his relatives, high school friends, making up lovers and constructing elaborate relationships and en entire love-life out of thin air. There's also people digging through his garbage and leaking (extremely private) emails, conversations and documents. Some of it simply goes too far and it reaches a point where it stops being funny and becomes sad.

But then again... this is a guy who openly shares pictures of his pierced butt with the world, and does so proudly and without a hint of shame. He's been trolling himself for ages, so he's kind of set himself up for a lot of what happened. The line between trolling and weening can be a bit thin at times, but the most important thing for me is: don't be a dick about it, don't be overly vindictive. Basically: don't be Mr. Smith, and we're cool.

And that is exactly where the line should be drawn. Nobody has to go and do these things to Chris. I stand by what I said in the thread which previously got derailed which was that, to make amends and end the deception against Chris, the fake personas should tell him directly that they fooled him.
Chris can provide us with content on his own and we can "troll" here on the forums by doing things which do not directly affect him. The first and foremost of these would be simply observing him and discussing him and using whatever creativity we can (Google, possibly skyraider91's antics but that's still debatable) to know things about him. When Null announced the closure of the private boards I was hoping he was taking us in this direction. Additionally I still believe we can ethically troll in other creative ways, mostly in the way of Sonichu satire. That's all for now.

So quick question, why have people lost their shit over this bit of trolling as opposed to others? All I've seen is that they (being "Catherine" and Thetan) did the fake girlfriend gimmick, had him go out to pride festivals, and pretended to be his ex-galpals. While it's impressive that they could get in with Chris nowadays this really isn't anything we haven't seen before. This really doesn't seem any more or less ethical than trollings of the past.

If anyone has an explanation why they feel it is suddenly wrong that would be great. Only way I can think of is because it's post-Bob and post-fire which is a tenuous excuse IMO.

Chris had a unrequited crush on Megan which just got worse.

Chris did meet the hooker -someone held his hand through the process of hiring her (who it was will likely NEVER bee disclosed) and Chris lost his virginity -no matter what frustrated virgins say.
