I feel like there hasn’t been a proper thread to watch and discuss the True Crime Community and the absolute depth it covers. The general insanity and tone-deafness of this community is off the charts, and I’d like this thread to serve as the chronicling of the community and some of the antics they frequently involve themselves in.
To start, a basic statement that will come in handy later:
Idolizing serial killers is disturbing.
So, let’s start to break this all down.
1.) True Crime Mukbangs:
Mukbangers should be a common sight for any Kiwi, they really are a lolcow race all of their own. While, yes, you are allowed to sit and make one of these god awful videos and talk about whatever you want, there is a bit of gross feeling that comes from watching someone eat thousands of calories of food while talking about incest, rape, and murder.

Currently, the top of this trend is an Asian woman named Stephanie Soo, who has made an entire career off stuffing her face while using the horrors of another for her profit.

She was recently called out byother faggots I mean, TikTokers for doing just that.
2.) True Crime Cleaning
Another recent trend that has popped up on TikTok as of recently is True Crime Cleaning.

It is exactly what it looks and sounds like. People use TikTok to post their jobs... of cleaning the scene of a murder. They film themselves... removing the leftovers of decaying bodies... and post it on TikTok for clout and money.
3.) CrowdSolving
This entry in particular is just outright hilarious. CrowdSolving is, apparently, a new popular trend in which conventions or large groups of people will try to solve real fucking cold cases with supervision by retired Alphabet Agency Glowies and hosts of Dateline on NBC.

It has been popularized at CrimeCon. A real event for real 40 year old white women and overweight Redditors to attend.
Of course nothing has been solved by these idiots, especially with 300 attendees and the... oh that's right the families of the the actual murder victims sometimes being in attendance. A lot of them are not paid, and from some of my reading while learning about this topic, a lot of them rather not be there in the first place.
They have figured out there terrible merch department.

Yes, but you literally aren't one.

wow what a surprise. Just look at those sizes.

4.) Loving Serial Killers
You know Charles Manson, the guy who had a cult that went out and murdered for him? Yeah same concept applies here.
Thanks to the lovely internet, serial killers now have their very own fandoms. With fanart and message boards and love and support. The problem is, that regardless of how they look, they are all still monsters and fucking murderers.

Ted BundyXDahmer btw in case you were wondering.

Most recently I'm sure you heard about the Netflix Dahmer show that caused a bunch of shit because people thought he was hot. However, the most famous/notorious of this little love-a-killer section is the fans of the Columbine shooting. While Vice News typically can, and should, kill themselves for being a faggoty news company, they did do a really nice job on this piece about the Columbine fans and I recommend giving it a watch.
