🐱 Trump Is One of the Worst Leaders on Earth, According to the Rest of the World

People in more than a dozen countries around the world have virtually no confidence in Donald Trump, and believe the U.S. has royally screwed up its coronavirus response, according to a Pew survey of American-allied countries around the globe.
In some countries that are closely allied with the United States, such as the United Kingdom, confidence is the lowest it’s ever been (41%). In others, such as France and Germany, only around 25% of respondents have confidence in the U.S., matching the country’s poor global standing in March 2003, when the United States invaded Iraq.

In all but one of the 13 countries included in the survey—which includes countries from western Europe and east Asia, as well as Australia and Canada—a clear majority have an unfavorable view of the United States. Among those 13 countries, just 16% of those surveyed expressed confidence in Trump to do the right thing regarding world affairs, as opposed to 83% who did not have confidence in him to do that. Just 34% of those surveyed held a favorable view of the United States in general.
The only country that did not hold an unfavorable view of the U.S. is South Korea, with which Trump has attempted to broker a deal to end long standing tensions with North Korea. Fifty-nine percent of those polled hold a favorable view of the United States, but just 17% have confidence in Trump, down drastically from 46% last year. By comparison, South Korea’s confidence in former U.S. President Barack Obama in South Korea was at 88% toward the end of his term in office.
Former Vice President Joe Biden has repeatedly attacked Trump’s foreign policy and relationship with the governments of allied countries, and promised to restore America’s standing around the globe.
Trump has “recklessly and routinely taken a battering ram to the pillars of America’s democracy — repeatedly attacking our institutions and values — amplified racist hatred for his own political ends, and traded the friendship of our democratic allies for photo ops with authoritarians and dictators,” Biden said in a statement on Tuesday, in commemoration of the International Day of Democracy.

Among top world leaders, Trump is the most widely loathed as well, with fewer people expressing confidence in him to do the right thing regarding world affairs (16%) than Russia’s Vladimir Putin (22%) or China’s Xi Jinping (19%). By comparison, 76% of respondents expressed confidence in German chancellor Angela Merkel to do the right thing.
It appears, however, that the Trump administration’s response to the coronavirus has done more than Trump’s foreign policy to ruin both his and America’s reputation around the globe. Trump pulled the U.S. out of the World Health Organization earlier this year, and continued to insist as recently as Tuesday that China was unilaterally at fault for the nearly 200,000 American deaths as a result of COVID-19.
“It was China's fault. I don't care how you want to define it. This was China's fault,” Trump said during a town hall with ABC News on Tuesday.
But around the world, most people don’t see it that way. Among all 13 countries surveyed, the U.,S. response to coronavirus received the worst marks by far, compared with the World Health Organization, the European Union, the respondent’s own country, and China.
Whereas 37% said China has done a good job containing the coronavirus outbreak, just 15% expressed the same view of the United States.
If all else fails, however, Trump can at least rest easy knowing he has more support from European nationalists. Among members of 11 of the most far-right parties in Europe, Pew found that confidence in Trump markedly improved relative to people in that country who don’t support the far right.
In Spain, for example, 45% of members of the neo-Francoist Vox partyexpressed confidence in Trump to do the right thing regarding world affairs. Among non-Vox members in Spain, just 7% did.

I'm really not interested in the opinions regarding the leader of our nation from faggots who don't even live here. We project power and they cry about it. We withdraw our troops from their shithole countries and they cry about it.

I'll consider listening to their opinions the second they become legal, tax-paying American citizens that actually live here. Until such a time that your feelings somehow substantially influence our politics and policies, we require neither your permission nor approval in how we conduct ourselves.

I don't love trump - but does the rest of the world really have a say when they're cucked by either the US or China? It seems like they don't love Trump because the US doesn't want to give give out handouts any more.

The media around the world is not that much different from CNN. BBC is a great example. They are more subtle about their bias and fuckery compared to CNN, but it's all the same. Your average person from outside the US probably reads the daily headline and leaves it at that. TRUMP SAID X, CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? - They read that in passing every day, or maybe the odd mainstream CNN clip and come to the conclusion that he's the worst thing in the world. A lot of Euro countries are so left wing at every level that the conservatives are more centre left than anything as well, so it's not surprising a lot hold this opinion.

My view is "who the fuck cares what other countries think". Bongs didn't like it when king nigger came across the pond to tell the public why they should vote a certain way regarding Brexit, and vice versa Americans don't like it when Euros give their two cents, because ultimately it means nothing.

People hate Yanks. What else is new? There's a reason affluent American tourists have long worn Maple leaf patches on their backpacks. The only thing that gives them away is the lack of French language skills. Because who the heck learns French tht isn't required to?
Only faggy easterners and private school pricks have any real facility with Quebecois up here. The rest of us wait until it's an elective course and drop it entirely.

...United Kingdom, France and Germany...
After two World Wars in which America had to come across the ocean to sort out your shit because of all of your foreign policy 'expertise', and the nearly 80 years we have directly and indirectly subsidized your militaries, you three no longer have the privilege of having any opinion about the United States that we are obligated to respect.

It's why they haven't liked a single Republican since Dwight Eisenhower: Right-of-Center = bad to your typical Euro elite.

They are ignorant that the US has a history of right-wing leaders that WEREN'T totalitarian/fascist assholes and that the political spectrum in America is a lot broader and evenly-populated than the left-skewed ones they live under.

What would be called "right wing" in Europe would be a total non-starter to red rural America, as even a "hardline conservative" from there would still be seen as a blue urbanite to Main Street USA. And this confuses and scares them since there's no analogue in Europe (any longer, since WWII reset everything at a "liberal" baseline) to the blue-collar, self-sufficient, small-town small-government voting bloc. Nobody in Europe lives that way anymore, so the "natural" political vibe of traditional conservatism in it is alien to them...

Lacking a full understanding of what US conservatism is, they can only view it as underdeveloped fascism of the kind they "grew out of" and don't see why the US won't just "evolve" to be in line with them as the natural next step, and like the Dems here, hope that classic conservatism is going extinct "naturally" and are dismayed every time it shows it still has enough vigor to win the most powerful office on it's Neanderthal-tier platform that proves what dopes anyone in America NOT living in NYC or LA really are..... A party that WANTS people to own guns? That WANTS you to be able to spread hatspeech? That thinks there should be less free stuff given by the government? MADNESS!!!

Because they don't get it, and see right-leaning politics as obsolete and dangerous, they are leery on principle that ANY conservative the US elects is really a Secret Hitler, and the tendency for the left in America to treat it as such to the point of hyperbole to win the next election just 'proves' they were right to suspect such.... if you're a republican, you cannot be trusted, end of story. While every Democrat gets high marks, even if they're shitty, because that's "proof" America is finally "moving in the right direction" and will be a correct European-style social democracy at last!

It's obvious those countries were handpicked to get a headline.
Can't wait for Pew to "prove" that blacks do less crimes by surveying black billionaires.

What a hell of an article less than a week after two historical Middle East peace agreements.
Like those would ever get reported. I heard nothing about the agreements, or the Kosovo talks that happened recently, from anyone in my country's media. Not a fucking peep. All they get is the bad news, and they condition you with it too. If Trump comes up in conversation and most respond with a reflexive "ugh, Trump" and an eyeroll. And then you try and press them on why they hate the man and they have to use some vague accusations of stupidity/racism.
Trump is the most hated world leader because he is the most misrepresented world leader.

I swear to God CNN reported these agreements at the White House and their main focus was that there was no social distancing and few masks.

It's only the middle class in Europe that dislikes Trump with a passion the rest of us either don't care, think he's a blowhard or we just take the piss outta yanks for being loud.

Besides who cares what the frogs and krauts think i would be concerned about what San Marino thought before them two
