I think a lot of info is available, maybe most of what you would need to know, but there are some fine technical details that aren't as obvious.

That diagram isn't bad, but it's missing a few things. One of the most important is at the end of the fission trigger there is a lens that focuses and refines the radiation so it is much more uniform and focused to provide even and intense pressure as part of the "Tamper-Pusher" ablation stage. If it wasn't focused and refined the ablation step would be uneven, and heterogeneous ablation would lead a spectacular failure of fusion.
