going to a friend of a friend's place who is a chef. he's doing a bird and all the fixings. bringing over a twelve pack, some bacon wrapped scallops and homemade choco chip cookies. hopefully they will be well received.

My sister's family is throwing a big ol' shindig this year, doing most of the work... smoked turkey, smoked ham, taters and yams, pumpkin pie made from real roasted pumpkins, bread pudding, yadda yadda. I'm bringing some ambrosia salad and homemade bread.

Didn't have to go out today, thankfully, but I did have to run out yesterday. Took one look at the local Wally World's parking lot, said "fuck that shite" and went to the grubby lil mom and pop further down the road. Higher prices, shitty selection, farther to drive, but only like 10 people in the parking lot.

And yes. Welcome to the south, where the Walmart is usually the nicer, cleaner, better option. Unless I wanna drive 30 miles to Kroger, or half that to Publix and go broke.
