Disaster Twitch viewers demand changes as 'topless' meta moves to 'implied nudity' meta

Article

The controversial Twitch ‘topless’ meta has continued to evolve with more streamers switching gears by adding censor bars to their broadcasts to invoke implied nudity.

It’s been a December to remember for Twitch. The Amazon-owned platform has had to deal with two controversial new streaming types and the response has created as much drama as the metas themselves.

It all started when Twitch streamer ‘Morgpie’ went viral for appearing to stream topless, but in an interview with Dexerto, she revealed that she was wearing clothes underneath.

This resulted in Twitch changing its community guidelines to allow for “artistic nudity,” but the site quickly reverted the update after streamers took things too far.

Now, the ante has been upped again as content creators use censor bars to make their streams look more sexual than they are.

On December 19, a Dexerto tweet highlighting streamer Firedancer using censor bars over her bra went viral resulting in other streamers joining in on the action.

Popular hot tub streamer JenFoxxx, formerly known as Indiefoxx, was one such streamer, utilizing censor bars to make it appear as if she was wearing nothing at all.

While this may all be in good fun, that didn’t stop viewers and other streamers from voicing their frustration with the amount of sexual content on the platform.

“Twitch used to be an app for kids btw,” said Kick streamer charc.

“Why not imply a rule to the TOS that both Vtubers and IRL streams need to always show that some type of clothing is being worn? That way, it’s the same for everyone?” suggested artist Kitsunie.

“Twitch has an implied nudity issue that they are refusing to fix,” remarked HUN2R. “Every update they have people just pushing the boundaries as far as they can.”

Others shifted the blame and took issue with the fans watching the content. Parents even chimed in, saying their kids won’t be allowed on the site until their are fixes.

However, not everyone was on board, as some users seemed to voice their approval for the new type of content.

So far, Twitch has yet to comment on this wild new meta and we’ll have to wait and see just how far streamers can push the limit before potential bans are handed out.

The kids love it.

How do these censor bars work? Are they a static overlay on top of the camera feed and the thots try not to move up and down much, or are they using motion tracking? I guess if they're wearing a swimsuit it doesn't matter if they break the illusion.

Most brand advertising departments aren't the brightest bulbs, hence advertising alongside gambling and the softcore porn some twitch channels have become, but even the smoothest brained advertising team knows that you don't want to market netflix or amazon prime alongside a livestream of a midget with a bad dragon.
A good 60-70% of brands use marketing agencies. Nearly all of the direct to consumer brands that love Internet marketing use agencies. These agencies often freak out over changes that might not bother with a brand doing their own marketing, because their clients won't see the platform making a bad decision; they'll see their agency as making a bad decision.

Given these agencies are the prime customer for paid media, platforms generally have to be more careful than they'd have to be if they were dealing with brands themselves.
I don't get the appeal of thot streaming
The one who started all this *does* do porn. Why anyone would want to see her *not* do porn, on Twitch or anywhere else, is beyond me. Are coomers really down so bad that this parasocial shit is sufficient to take the place of an actual relationship?

All this mess was caused by one single thing:
hos will be hos
Kids and young men couldn't have one single place for them to play their vgs without women being mad that they weren't the absolute center of attention, and as they can't even play tic tac toe, they went into to the easiest and cheapest way to get attention: sex.

They don't even care that minors could watch them. How is different from what troons do?

Amazon just needs to open a twitch version of pornhub where they can be as naked as they want and all the thots and coomers would fly into it as fast as flies fly to shit.
I wonder why Twitch just doesn't go all in and make a Porn category?
All sites should do this. I'm personally tired of scrolling the twitter TL and finding porn, furry or normal. And remember that Twitter allows minors in, yet there is no restrictions for what they end up watching.

Subscribe Star, the Patreon competition, has a separate section for adult content (no porn, though).

This is the one that started this mess, and I'm not convinced this isn't a troon.
A few men got suspended for streaming half naked. It'd be funny if the one who started it all was not a troon, but rather a man who did all of this to prove a point.

I've never seen one of these streamers gamer girls before, troons being there is sorta expected but other than troons I didn't quite expect a tatted gross old porn star with giant fake tits you can't even look at.

These women are ugly trash
Understatement of the fucking millennium.

If we're being nice, they are 4's, 5's, and 6's with a fuck-ton of caked-on make-up and those laughably obnoxiously retarded drawn-on eyebrows that without it no one would even do a second glance at. That's not even getting into the ones that turn themselves into plastic mannequins that make them even MORE hideous than they did without it.

Also it's fair to say that their personalities are just as trashy as their looks. Messy rooms and smelly bodies with dirty-ass hair they don't even wash, talk like a sailor, and have the I.Q. of a toaster oven.

Twitch probably doesn't want to move into porn because mindgeek would scream anoda shoah because Amazon is muscling into their territory. Maybe conservatives would have a aneurysm with Amazon hosting porn essentially.

If some mormon watchdog group were to start screenshotting advertisers alongside these censored whores, advertisers would start dropping twitch pretty damn fast.

Elon should do it.

I mean... there's porn. Everywhere. Real porn. Uncensored bobs and vagene. Pretty east European girls kissing each other and sucking dick and everything

Are zoomers really that desperate for parasocial relationships? Sheeeeeit

It's a way to get around porn bans in some countries, i.e. South Korea and Turkey. (even though Twitch Korea will be shutting down)

Because the woman is talking to you. Speaking in a friendly way, smiling. Women have made feminine behavior a commodity.

If they were 10s, they wouldn't be on Twitch. Even if they were actual prostitutes, A1 prostitutes wouldn't be on Twitch.

They are ugly women without any appealing quality. They aren't nice, they aren't smart, and they aren't even into vgs. If they were into vgs for real, without any attentionwhorish behavior, they'd have normal fans who are there because they want to see women playing for real, even if they were not really attractive. Basically, vg tomboys. But they aren't any of this.

I'm so tired of women thinking prostitution or ethot behavior is empowerment. It's not, it's the cheapest and easiest way to get a man's attention. Those women are convinced they are top material because they dare to do it, but the reality is that other women won't because they have standards and dignity.

I wonder... I'm not entirely clear about cloud computing, and how sectioned it is. Amazon sells MASSIVE amounts of cloud computing space. They run absolutely enormous data centers across the country, in the US at least (and I assume elsewhere as well). I don't know how or if Twitch servers are integrated with all the rest of what they own, but if they allowed porn and something illegal happened with it, could it result in the servers being seized? And could that affect an unrelated company's data that happened to be in the vicinity? That alone would cause a mass migration from their space, even if it was done accidentally.

Like I said, I don't know how the big cloud servers partition space for each "renter". I know Null bought the physical hardware to support the Farms, to avoid issues with places that rent out cloud server space.

I mean it depends less on whether they broke laws or not, and more on whether they're a target for powerful people. Nobody targeted facebook or twitter for their child porn. Nobody targeted facebook despite having the livestream of the christchurch shooting.

The more streaming sites get into this pornography ‘loophole’ the further degraded society becomes. The reason we have low birth rate and depression and tons of single men is in part due to the insane amount of porn and soft porn or parasocial relationships.
Pornography is so low brow and I don’t know why women try convincing themselves it’s not shameful. You aren’t achieving anything, you aren’t improving your education, your character or experience. You are offering nothing valuable to society. It’s plain and simple laziness. Wanting the money without the effort of earning it.
They also don’t want to be TRAD wives cause that’s also hard.
