So the only solution is a counter Islamic Revolution or Civil War which leads to a Charlemagne figure after years of darkness?
Well, Julian the Apostate did try to turn back the clock on Christianity, not by heavy handed persecutions like Diocletian did but disincentivizing Christianity in society and trying to build a more cohesive Pagan 'Church' of sorts. He died in a campaign in Persia though (some say at the hands of one of his own Christian soldiers) and it's hard to say if he would've had any lasting success if he'd lived longer.
Which is ultimately exactly what Theodosius ended up doing.
I think Julian may have had some success doing what he was doing; it's difficult to tell how much of his progress was wishful thinking by historians or just a flash in the pan. I do believe he was the last chance for a meaningful return to paganism and the old Roman societal ideals. I also see Trump as being our Julian--once he's gone his reforms may be overturned forever.
What the Romans lost in the fall of their society and replacement with Christianity was a loss of a more civic focused society to one that looked inward and encouraged people to give up on this life and worry more about the next one. The good works you do, the money you donate to the church, that is what will help you in the afterlife, and that is all that really matters. Might as well pay lip service to Caesar and donate your whole estate to the Church. Who cares if barbarians have taken over a city--the important thing is can their bishop show up to debate the nature of Christ's mortality and divinity at the religious conference this year?
Don't think I'm one of those wingnats decrying Christianity here. Christianity has great moral values. But it took centuries for Christian values to be welded to those of the state, and for people to reconcile doing great things for their family, community, and nation with "being Christian." Early Christianity was all about tuning in, turning on, and dropping out. It also overturned the old social order.
BLM/SJWism is trying to overturn our entire social order. They want wypipo to drop out and give up all power. And I don't consider myself a white nationalist by any means. What I want to see is secular, normal, patriotic American values become championed over BLM. Including POCs without denigrating whites to "make up for systemic racism". I think there is a chance to turn back the clock and turn our backs on the cancel culture, thought police, woke politics, and political correctness. To fight for equal opportunity not equality of outcome. But that window is rapidly closing.
It shouldn't take a theocratic counterrevolution to BLM by Islam or IRL Gilead nor should it take cleaving parts of the US off. Right now ordinary Americans can't speak--we'll lose our jobs and our friends. We can't fight back--we get charged with brandishing guns or running people over, even if they were blocking our cars and attacking us. We can't argue against BLM without committing hate crimes.
It is up to the Republicans to disagree with BLM and make it safe for ordinary Americans to do so. To make it safe to speak without losing one's life one way or another. If the Republicans just take a knee too, nobody will speak for us and we won't be able to speak. But if Americans can speak, if we can debate and fight this, it will encourage our friends and neighbors to listen, think, and change their minds from being lockstep into Marxist Intersectional indoctrination. Ordinary people will come out of their stupor and realize what the leftists want is insane, and that they can say that and feel that and it doesn't mean they are racist or hate black people. Then the radicals lose their power.
