with regards to the election, how much will developments in Minneapolis impact the result?
A lot of those protestors are gonna vote, and I can't imagine many of them voting for Trump. They're Ridin' With Biden, and everybody knows it. This is the implicit threat, isn't it? Vote Biden to restore order. If you don't do as we say, we'll make sure shit burns.
Now Minneapolis has a monstrous deficit and a huge cleanup bill. It'd take years to restore corporate trust and rebuild, but they don't have the funds alone to do any of that.

Are the Democrats in any way worried this monument to appeasement will carry the entire Rust Belt for Trump? What's to stop MAGA hat twitter from taking a tour through the still derelict wreckage of downtown in September/October, and Trump appropriating it for the campaign? Normally political campaigns have to go into speculative fiction to smear their opponents, but Biden supporters did all of this and didn't even have a way to spin it as all Trump's fault!
What do they do if Federal relief doesn't come? If it does Trump can spin it as being a Gracious God, but if MN state then tax their own, the vox pops are gonna be a bunch of incensed Quakers in the suburbs and in the countryside complaining that they're paying for the damages of looters, with 0 reassurance they'll not have to do it again in the future.

Trump already denied federal aid. Minnesota was in danger of going red before and that chance is significantly higher after the riots.

I remember reading an article about how these soyboy white antifa wannabes have horrible experiences in jail and prison because they're pariahs to everyone. The white gangs think they're traitors, the black and hispanic gangs think they're wannabes, and the gen pop in general thinks they're shitheads. Apparently, going to prison as a social justice activist is the worst possible experience you could have. At least the Jewish ones can claim to be Orthodox and get into the cushy federal prison in NY where they keep all the Jews who do white collar crimes, but even then I don't think their experiences would be very great.

Super late, but in response to this:
Earlier in this thread I drooled about some good versus evil paradigm happening right now. This was said just to paint a simplistic picture, so people get the point.
Saying stuff about understanding about black leaders and that’s why a black community is fucked is not realistic right now. Right now, you’re seeing a horde of angry and violent and unhappy people, trying their damnest to spread like a plague and sow their unhappiness. There are people in this world who want to be happy, and people who either don’t care, don’t know, or enjoy inflicting unhappiness. It literally doesn’t matter creed or gender or race et al. People of all the aforementioned want happiness, and just the reverse.
