There was apparently a leak for AC Red that showed the character select menu, confirming that you will be playing as Yasuke as the male protagonist.

Not even feudal Japan could prevent Ubisoft from nog worship.
You know it gets kind of boring when games based their shit character in the only nigger in japland who there is a good chance he was probably made up.
Just drop an okinawan, or a random black guy if you are dead set on having a b-ball player but jesus fuck do something original.
Might as well just turn any demon into oda nobunaga if you want to be that unoriginal

I bet the dude was real but like.....he was a joke. They dressed him up in the samurai armor as a joke. Like if you put pants on a dog and had it dance around it would have been the same effect in japan at the time.

Pretty much. Akechi supposedly referred to him as an animal during Nobunaga's final battle and refused to execute him - Yasuke was wielding a sword, that's a big no-no for retainers - as that meant he would be treated as if he was Japanese. Yasuke was Nobunaga being a showboating retard like Mike Tyson owning a tiger because it seemed like a fun idea at the time. Only less mauling somehow.

As if shutting down The Crew 1's servers wasn't enough, Ubisoft is even revoking people's licenses for the game:

They're really trying to turn video games into just as literally disposable items such as smartphones.

Is that because of the pass shit or did they actually buy it?
Wouldn't matter as in the first paragraph of the EULA they explicitly state this ( This is for The Crew 2 but I'm sure they just copied and pasted from The Crew's EULA)
1. GRANT OF LICENSE.
1.1 UBISOFT (or its licensors) grants You a non-exclusive, nontransferable, non-sublicensed, non-commercial and personal license to
install and/or use the Product (in whole or in part) and any Product (the
“License”), for such time until either You or UBISOFT terminates this EULA.
You must in no event use, nor allow others to use,the Product or this
License for commercial purposes without obtaining a licence to do so from
UBISOFT. Updates, upgrades, patches and modifications may be necessary in
order to be able to continue to use the Product on certain hardware. THIS
PRODUCT IS LICENSED TO YOU, NOT SOLD.

It kind of does for places like France where, to my understanding, they have an absurdly good standard for consumer ownership of digital products. If they purchased the game then Ubisoft can't do boo about it, but if it was a pass system I don't think France covers that.

That's the funniest thing about this since Ubisoft is based in France.

they have an absurdly good standard for consumer ownership of digital products.
That requires them to enforce it.
If they purchased the game
That's my point, these companies are changing the definition of purchase in the EULA that they force you to sign. In a perfect world the parts of government that deal in consumer rights would have nipped this shit in the bud, however we live in the world where companies can get away with rape in the form of a legal document cause they have a rapist mentality and no one is punishing them for it.

The legal argument they're using right now is trying to explain that what Ubisoft did with The Crew is planned obsolescence which is a criminal offense in France apparently. With any luck they might even be able to make EULAs invalid because a transaction occurred prior... but probably not.

Man if France is the country that kills live service games... I may have to apologize to them.

I hope so too

Be careful what you two wish for

I'll bite. How is getting rid of EULA's written by people with a rapist mentality a bad thing?
Not saying it's a bad thing. I'm saying that France might have a chance to fuck that up

FTFY, Ubi wrote the EULA that violates France's consumer protection law. If Ubi have to die so that rapey EULA's and TOS's die to, then it's worth it. Not like they've been making anything worthwhile since AssassC: Black Flag

I remember a Ubisoft executive trying to gaslight the benefits of "not owning your games" to their consumers. I think their next Star Wars game will require an Internet connection to install. Now what will happen when the client to verify the installation goes offline?

The new Prince of Persia game looks like shit. What the fuck is up with the megacorp art style?
