Someone has made a parody commercial about The Crew 1's shutdown, similar to those 90's "if you have been diagnosed with mesothelioma, or -insert disease here-, you may be entitled to compensation" commercials:

A first game that was vaporware but had potential, a second one that might have been decent if it wasn't for the dogshit writing and a third one that was pure shit.
What a legacy
Wasn't Watch Dogs basically made cause they couldn't figure out what to do with Driver anymore?

It's absolutely fucking crazy that all of these open world "crime" games got fucked up trying to compete with GTA, and then all died off when GTA stopped producing games.

I'll bet pounds to pennies that 90% of the dev team weren't alive when the first PoP dropped, let alone played it.

Devs should make it a prerequisite that you play their back catalogue and answer questions about the lore before you're allowed to work on any respective franchise.
The only thing the original PoP had in common with the Sands of Time was vaguely platformer-y gameplay and combat that involved a sword and yet both were great.

"Lore" isn't anywhere near as important as having and executing on a cohesive, fun concept.

Legion saved itself by finishing off the legacy of Aiden Pierce from WD1 as DLC. That still doesn't salvage the mediocre story from the base game. I think you could go through the base game AS Pierce after beating the DLC, correct me if I'm wrong. I have Legion JUST for the Bloodline DLC.

Shame, it had potential from 1 & 2. The "play as any NPC" was interesting, but its London felt bland with its futuristic theme and lack of motivation.

I remember discussion about Legion being a reaction to Brexit, but Ubisoft said no.

yeah legion kinda sucked. big step down from the other two entries. the bloodline dlc is fine tho

They always say this. The game would have started development right when Brexit happened, so it's even more preposterous than them saying the 2016 election had nothing to do with Far Cry 5.
they mention the brexit stuff in marketing for it. game has nothing to do with it because it's a game about an anarcho primitivist bombing buildings and a pmc doing a soft takeover of london in response and your band of wacky brits trying to stop them

As a wise man would say, Watch Dogs deserved better than Ubisoft.

Hearing the word "Ubisoft" and "Battle Royale" all at the same time reminds me Hyper Scape, it's still damn shame about what happened to the game.

Well, they did made a shitty mobile spinoff about boats, got removed just a year later because it didn't make Ubisoft enough shekels lel. and something about a TV series on some second rate TV streaming platform.

WE WUZ HACKAZ N SHIETTT, DAMN WHITEY KEEPIN DEM BLACK PROGRAMERZ DOWN, I'M BLACK AND I'M PROUD!!!!!111!!!!

Its really hard to tell. When you play the game there were a ton of threads that kept crossing over each other meaning they didn't know where to take Aiden. Was Aiden suppose to be the dad that lost a kid instead of a uncle? Was his sister suppose to be his ex-wife cause he got PTSD/guilt after their kid died? It was just all over the place.

Which was a shame cause the idea and the world was really fun. I liked the hacking, I liked the chaos, I even like that multi-player where you "invaded" another person world and pretended to be a NPC to pull off a hack. Walking around like a NPC (including bumps, bad pathing, etc) while the other PC was running around like a manic was a really fun time.

So a dataminer has just leaked the ending for the current manhunt in Division 2 on the subreddit. I'll spoiler my thoughts in case there are other players here who wanna see it first hand on Tuesday.

The entire thing boils down to somehow Palpatine Keener, Faye Lau and Theo Parnell returned. Supposedly they've all been working together all along with Kelso, to take down Calvin + Sokolova so faked their deaths. Apparently we're just supposed to ignore the whole murdering all the other First Wave and JTF, and the joining objectively evil factions that murder civilians and oh yeah the chemical weapons thing. I mean I wasn't expecting much because the season writing has been kinda shit so far, but this was even worse than expected.

God I hate the writing in The Division 2...

So, are any of Ubisoft's games really worth playing these days? Because after some of Ubi's recent shit - "gamers need to get used to not owning games", the political pandering, overall poor quality, etc. - I can't really thing of any of Ubi's games that are worth a purchase. I mean, I already played a bunch of their older stuff like Watch Dogs and some of the better Assassin's Creed titles; anything you guys would suggest?

ghost recon wildlands is pretty decent, far cry 5 is probably the last of the better games from its lineup, not perfect but better than 6, i think anno is still doing okay? and ac mirage is alright considering its circumstances

I agree, GR Wildlands and Far Cry 5 are worth having.

Is there a way to play Ubi games without their invasive malware? Only reason I don't play ubi games anymore, I don't want to deal with it cause it takes ages to connect only to then say it can't connect to servers.
