Ubisoft Sellout - Bankruptcy Speedrun Any% Thread

Didn't they also cancel Division Heartlands before the public beta? Idk the status of Division mobile is right now. think that's still in development.

They did, although it did have several invite only betas.

Per Ubisoft's recent earnings report it's no longer expected in this financial year (which runs until 31st March 2025)

I was one of the few retards into Division 2 for its story (I could write for hours about how the factions are intertwined and their individual actions all have massive yet unspoken influence on the overarching plot), but the last seasons have desperate. Keener and Faye back from the dead, Faye's personality suddenly becoming all about her love of vagina, and so on.

You can tell they had no clue where to go after Warlords.
So it looks like Outlaws pulls a TLOU2 in the final act. Despite killing literally thousands of Stormtroopers and gangsters brickface lets the main bad guy go in a cutscene and there is no option to kill him because "revenge and le killing are bad."

Hey Ubisoft, this game takes place in the Star Wars timeline where the Imperial troops are conscripted not clones, those Stormtroopers Kay killed by the thousands presumably had families.
The bad guy isn't let go. He's killed by someone else before Kay gets the chance to do it herself.

What did they do this time?
It's a lame fight against a Black Tusk robot dog. It's bullet sponge, immune to EMP (somehow) and in 3 phases and you have to make sure that Keener doesn't get killed.

Speaking about The Division 2, FUCK THE DEVS for the "boss fight" at the end of the latest manhunt.
What you don't like striker drone spam, timers, enforced immunity phases and having to complete it 4 times to get all the collectibles?

It's a shame the final fight ruined it because I actually enjoyed the rest of the mission. Bunker is a fun map anyway, and running through it on a different route while also dodging tripwires was neat (at least the first time, after that I jammer pulsed those bitches)

Of course the real question is which was worse, Chimera or Sparkles?

Yeah I thought it was fun to revisit that location in a different way. I didn't bother with the tripwires, I used the pulse whenever I could.
Also I can't stand the Anna AI. Why does everything has to be quirky/lol so random? Garrus/ISAC will always be the best one.

I still have to do it once for my 3 other characters.
And once again we get shitty rewards for the final target while the outfit is locked behind a paywall (micro-transactions).

how deep in the shit do you think Ubisoft is?
Assassin's Creed is going to be the make it or break it point I think. Valhalla printed money, no doubt they're expecting a similar if not greater return on investment with Shadows. If Shadows flops (and to be entirely honest I don't think it will, AC fans are a special kind of paypiggy) then they're definitely in the shitter. Skull and Bones was in dev for decades but it was mostly funded by government money.

I expect that they'll be bailed out by the French government if they don't start spinning a profit regardless. They're an integral arm of propaganda. Despite their games not selling and getting progressively worse with each release, it seems to me that the powers that be will be reluctant to let them go the way of the dodo.

If Shadows flops, I expect we're going to get another $40 DLC-into-separate game like Mirage.

Ubisoft stock tanks to 10 year low
10 years ago they almost got taken over by a mobile game company, really says something when no one is willing to buy them out now. its cheap enough that you'd think someone would be willing to try and salvage the fuckin thing.

I feel like if Japan raises enough of a stink it will destroy the game's reputation and cause it to flop. the japanese in general are quickly getting tired of immigrant bullshit and a game praising the type of people fucking with their society today is not going to be tolerated.

Why on earth would you want to do that?

Also why the fuck are the Division devs so allergic to communicating properly? There was a bit of moaning when it turned out the current 3xp event turned out too be capped at 100 levels, when the announcement banner made it seem like it was triple exp for the whole week. People were asking if that would be the same for the upcoming 5x event, and the devs have said no, that one'll be capped at 1k levels instead. The problem is they said that on their personal fucking Twitter account. So if you don;t know who the community manager is, or don't follow them, you won't find out.

I feel like it will be DOA. Asian market won't touch it, the culture was is too hard so the western market is already shrinked. What characters you have, nigger or ugly square jaw woman?

Look I dislike Ubisoft as much as everyone else but lets wait with shutting down the studio till Anno 117 release.
I just hope Blue Byte have the funds and forethought to secure their IP when Ubi goes tits up. I am also disappointed the Roman Anno will be 117 and not Anno 9.
I wonder finanacially how bad Ubi is doing compared to when THQ went tits up.
Is Udraw 1&2 still bigger fuck ups than the current string of Ubi failures?

On the back of yet another share price slide (down ~14% in just the last week or so), one of Ubisoft's investors has written an open letter demanding Ubisoft do something, either yeeting Guillemot as CEO and/or allowing the company to be taken private, or sold elsewhere.
A lot of the usual suspects are covering this with the expected clickbaity "OMG Ubisoft is DYING as investors REVOLT!!!!!" shit, but honestly it's a bit of a nothingburger. Apparently this fund holds less than1% of Ubi's shares, and by their own admission have only been investing in Ubi for a few weeks. The only actually interesting bit to me is they explicitly accuse the Guillemot's and Tencent of deliberately shitting the place up to drive the price down to make taking it over entirely cheaper:

I've attached the full letter for anyone interested.

Also IDK about the rest of you, but I sure do love playing some Tommy Clancy's, it's definitely my favourite Ubisoft IP.

I wish Yves Guillemot would grow some balls and get rid of all the pozz DEI shit but the cancer will stay as Tencent is already in.
Inverstors asking for him to step down will do more damages to the company.

They didn't even name-drop Prince of Persia. Those remakes ain't coming out, at this point it's for the best for handful of remaining fans of the trilogy.

I even played 2d platformer ones back in the day, honestly never was fan of those

Ubisoft announced that The Crew 2 and Motorsport will have offline modes coming soon in a later update.

The Crew 2 is on sale for $1 on digital storefronts until September 23rd.

Meanwhile, XDefiant is doing daily log-in rewards of $9 worth of its currency to close out its first season.

Obviously, Ubisoft is trying to salvage what's left of XDefiant to save it from an early grave. There's still lingering issues with XDefiant involving movement exploits and bad netcode.
