I started a doc collecting news articles - not sure how far you want to go back but some came up local to me I didn’t know about from 2021. I’ve been adding their names and where they came from where available. I’ll post it tomorrow. God sneed soldier

Not interested in dates. If a crime has been committed by a migrant, I want it on that bloody map! People need to know the kinds of people we have here.

If it was a rape or an assault from 2021, I guarantee you the victim will still remember it four years on. Thanks for contributing, already got 5 - 10 new reports.

Any user-friendliness features you guys want? I was thinking of adding an OpenStreetMap integration on the report page so you don't have to dance between tabs and copy/pasting.

He's seeking asylum! From...the peaceful Solomon Islands. Yeah, no idea. He was in the country for a while too, if I remember correctly. That case was a weird one.

Good call using OpenStreetMaps for this. Google would 86 this project's access to Google Maps in a heartbeat.
Yeah, would never integrate a Google product in this. I even added a privacy-friendly analytics so I could see what kind of traffic the site was getting. Only collects the country someone is in and doesn't run on the website if ad blockers are enabled.

I've been going non-stop through these reports and I still have 27 reports currently to review. Fantastic work, boys. This map will be lit up by tomorrow.

Also, reading through these cases in bulk. How on earth do the content moderators that skim and see the sickest parts of humanity every day cope with it? Absolute lack of humanity in most of these cases.

Any plans on getting volunteers to help review these cases?

You're doing God's work.

I thought about going through all the papers searches using key words but I wouldn't want to deal with the weeks of anger after reading all the rape stories and slaps on the wrist. Some of the details of local events are known but not published. I know of an incident where the rape occurred hours after dropping them into the hotel but I can't find any news stories on it.

Any plans on getting volunteers to help review these cases?
It would be hard to find someone trust worthy to do it. The information has to be vetted properly for this to be worth doing.

Three possibilities I can think of.

1) You "get used to it" and become desensitized, and part of your soul dies (or you're a jeet and don't have one to begin with). 2) Alternatively, you are disgusted and damaged by it and either wash out quickly or need ongoing therapy (often company-paid) to cope with it. 3) You're into it and enjoy being exposed to it.

IIRC the feds rotate people out of investigating the "harder" stuff after a year or two to prevent burnout (or long-lasting psychological damage) and avoid "enthusiasts" nestling in too comfortably. They provide ongoing mental healthcare for their people.

I know Facebook has had fluff pieces written about the rough lives of their censorship staff (given that they also censor benign insults and "crude" commentary, I have minimal sympathy for their "plight," only because they see some of the worst shit humanity has to offer) too.

I personally couldn't do it. I'd either suck-start a shotgun on first exposure to the bad stuff or go pedo hunting with a truck full of buck shot and a meta data dump to give me names and locations.

Sure! The dashboard is very wobbly at the moment, works mostly but there's a few quirks. Want to tidy it up before I allow trusted people to go and edit stuff, but absolutely. It's set up with that in mind but it'll just be me for a bit.

I just finished a case where a migrant raided a 70 year old woman's home, raped her and threatened her with a knife as her son repeatedly called her to see if she was okay. Stuff like that never leaves you. We've been paying for his housing, clothing and feeding for a year as he sits in jail.

Poor family.

Great point, that's why it's starting with me so I can set standards and keep it relatively normalised. Will definitely be open to trusted people having limited edit/access. For example, no deletions allowed unless merging duplicate reports, stuff like that.

Still working my way through this but I'm actually feeling a bit sick from the details of some of these crimes. I've built my own personal torture device.

Found something very interesting with the recent Norwich cases:
This link: https://www.edp24.co.uk/news/25203738.asylum-seeker-jailed-rock-attacks-norwich-hotel/

It's really blank and bare. I checked the archives and it's been edited HEAVILY. https://archive.ph/KVDS3

This is why we use archives! They must've hurriedly edited that article once the protests started.

I think some statistics could be neat when there's a fair amount of crimes, like the total amount of crimes shown/logged on the map, a breakdown of which crimes they are, and perhaps by country of origin?

Main stats I've had in mind have been:
- Pie chart of the types of crime. So far it's been about 75% rape.
- The regions and how many crimes in each region.
- Some kind of section for "Looking for details" or a "Report error" bit where people can report any mistakes or information that we don't have.

Been doing this for about four hours now and am really starting to lag a bit. Plus archive.ph is playing up a bit so I might call it now.

Thanks to everyone, I now have 101 reports. I started on 11. Thank you very much everyone who has contributed.
(and a special thank you to the dude who is including a latitude/longitude on every report, you're a fucking legend)

Great job. I just wish you could include crimes committed by the ethnically non-British who were born in the country.

If one of these migrants makes a rape baby and that baby grows up to commit violent crimes, I think that's just as bad as the migrant doing it.

I personally agree, but if the person is a British citizen then in the eyes of most people here they'd consider it the same as if a white British person did it.

I would probably accept a report of an asylum seeker who became a citizen, though.

Classifying strictly migrant crimes is definitely the way to go. I've unfortunately had to reject a few reports. The crimes are horrific and committed by some awful people but they just aren't asylum seekers.

Well, by all means focus on your project and don't take on ideas that will impede you from this very important work. It would be easy to make the scope too big and allow it to fall apart as a result, and no one wants that.

I just think there's something to be said for the possible fact that 90% of violent crimes are by those who aren't ethnically British, and that this has never really been measured in a real way.

Anyway, thank you for your work.

Don't mess yourself up for this. It's important work but your mental health needs to be managed as well.

You wouldn't be able to vet the amount of crimes, it would be insanely high. He also needs to be careful not to break any laws they can easily go after him for. This is a first step in a wider discussion on ethnicity and crime, but right now it's an essential tool and it's coming at the right time for it to impact politics.

Makes sense...sounds good to me.

Pretty sure the Sara Sharif stuff would count here. Far as I can tell the guy came to the UK using a student visa in 2003 and just stuck around as a taxi driver.

For anyone unfamiliar I'd advise not looking into it - it is heartbreaking. He thoroughly abused his daughter for her entire life (including biting her) which eventually culminated in her death. Cunt tried to flee to Pakistan immediately after. His excuse was that he thought he was carrying out reasonable "discipline" of his daughter. This happened almost exactly 2 years ago (August 2023).

You'll find plenty of articles about it but here's the specific one that states his immigration history.

Thankfully, he's rotting in prison and was even gifted the old tuna can treatment at the start of the year.

I had a thought as to something that could be added as an extra map: employers who have been caught employing illegals. While maybe not as heinous as the crimes these people commit (and let me know if you want to share the burden of reading through them Crunkle, don't let it get to you), it might also be of interest to document who is giving these people a source of income to stay here. Might be a bit too much work early on but just a thought.

Otherwise this is excellent, really well done.
