Speaking of Earthbound. Did anyone ever play Bound to the Dark World?

Cute little Earthbound Romhack that remakes Chapter 1 of Deltarune. It uses Earthbound's combat system, so, be warned. But it isn't hard or anything. The art and music is cool, especially the backrounds. I don't think theres any plans to do any chapter after this though. It would take way too much work to fit it onto a SNES cart.

I have to make a fucking Deltarune Silent Hill 4 mod if it ever gets decompiled. And a pixelated Deltarune rendition of The Room as a bonus.

I saw it and I may have posted it here, I didn’t play it because I don’t like old-school rpg combat.

You just reminded me of the funny low effort shitpost Deltarune mod someone made for DMC5 a couple of years ago.
It's all just retextures no model swaps or anything but I think that's way funnier.
It's called Jevil May Cry. Just the title alone wins me over.
It retextures all of the characters. Dante is Kris, Nero is Frisk, Vergil is Asriel I think? ect. It's really funny and charming in how low effort it is.

Imo the most entertaining part of mods like this is figuring out who would be who. I'm the kind of faggot that likes to make the character swaps make some sense at the very least.
In Silent Hill 4's case we know Kris HAS to be Henry. So that makes me wonder who everyone else would be. Noelle as Eileen could work. I propose Chara to be Walter Sullivan. :story: If only because making Chara the villain will piss off Charafags. That's it that's the only reason.

It's kinda sad seeing that romhack and how under-the-radar it went, despite the cool concept of bringing Deltarune back to being Earthbound.

Yeah, you're not the only one. Once the allure of "Deltarune in the style of Earthbound" wears off, it's just Chapter 1 again with the only main difference being the combat. And let's be honest, Earthbound's combat was definitely not one of the reasons why people remember it fondly.

Then there's the poor timing and unfortunate circumstances of when it came out. When that romhack came out, one of the first UTDR Youtuber to play it was Shayy... a few days before he was outed. Suffice to say, most people didn't want to play that romhack because they either didn't want to be associated with Shayy, or they were busy dealing with the Shayy incident itself.

And it kinda sucks because I think the romhack is decent, all things considered

I think I mentioned it before in this thread but back in the day it was a popular thing to portray Chara as a villain of some kind but then at some point that fell out of style and now you have faggots who screech if you even so much as insinuate Chara did anything wrong and wasn't a good boy who went to church or whatever.
Personally I don't really care about it being canon accurate I just think making Chara a piece of shit is funny because it makes people mad.

Charafags are usually pretty insufferable from my experiences.
Friskfags I don't have as much experience with but I am aware of the disturbing amount of them that make Frisk a hot anime girl and then ship her with Sans for some reason. :stress: (I know it's just them self-inserting as Frisk. Doesn't make it any less retarded.)

I think it’s a great idea and the presentation is well done, but yeah, the novelty does wear off. I got softlocked after the three-Hathys fight (the dev said it was rare but he doesn’t know why it happens or how to fix it) and decided I’d had my fill. I still need to skim through someone else’s playthrough.

I think that would be when the Narrator Chara theory became popular, which alleges that all the flavour text in the game is Chara's narration.
