Undertale

She’s much less sympathetic without the trauma from Undertale, which is probably deliberate on Toby’s part.
Undertale Asgore was a good person who had to balance the wellbeing of his people with his distaste for any kind of death, whether it’s humans or monsters. You could argue his actions (or lack thereof) were cowardly, but they were still calculated decisions with good intentions, and he’s still remorseful when faced with the consequences. Toriel’s response being “no fuck you I still hate you” really shows how much of a selfish cunt she is in hindsight, but what she wants just happens to involve being nice to human children.

To be fair, we still don't know what Asgore did that caused him to be fired.

What about Krelle?
Eh, I find the dynamic interesting in Snowgrave and it's really ballsy for Toby to basically let you make Yuri bait infatuated with you over her crush, but that's about it. I think Noelle's relationship with Kris and how they drifted apart, how she kind of undersells their relationship even though she still feels kind of close to them, and how she may or may not have had her 'tastes' impacted by Kris' consistent teasing very interesting.

But Krusie is just the better ship, no two ways about it. Don't care if it makes me sound like a 15 year old Tumblr fag.

Also was 'A sacrifice made on festival day' the final prophecy? What are the odds that the story 'ends' with CH 5 and 6-7 are us fucking the timeline up or breaking destiny over our knee like the little bitch it is?

So, does anyone has any idea what that weird looking grid is at the bottom right of the chapter select screen?

Is there any reason why Kris didn’t just destroy the Thorn Ring after taking it? And do you have it in your inventory before forcing it back onto her?

A thing I'm kinda wondering is if there might be a reason to start and then back out of snowgrave once the ring's in your inventory as you have to actually cast snowgrave in order to lock into the route, plus Ralsei directly states when going over the recruit mechanic that there might be situations where it's better to not recruit specific monsters (eg. the ones you iced to get the ring).

I'LL HIT YOU WITH MY CAR
The banjo backing is absolute fucking perfection. UT/DR fandom really knocks it out of the park with the high quality shitposts.

Save files in which you've collected dark crystals on.
Basically this, but I think it specifically reads chapter clear data. I found this out when I wanted to restart my first run (used too many Revive Mints and other important items, also missed the eggs) and erased a save. The save for that slot in that chapter was lost, but the clear data remained. Clearing a chapter again overwrites the previous clear data.

I mean her main gripe wasn't even with Asgore killing humans, it was that he was basically too much of a pussy in her eyes to kill the humans the right way. She outright says that he could've used the one human soul to pass the barrier himself then kill the other humans in a single night, then come back to break the barrier, but again he was too much of a "coward" to do that.

Asgore was so repulsed by the idea of killing people that he just waited on his ass for as long as possible to the point that the humans that he did end up killing were just children that got lost, and they all had to challenge him, one at a time, by their own will, over the course of multiple years (if not longer). He took the path where his hand was more or less forced, where he was eventually going to free his people like he wanted, but not as quickly as was probably needed all because he never wanted to become a murderer. He's such a broken man that when he eventually fights Frisk, the key to his peoples freedom, he can't even look at him while they fight. The guy is basically begging you to kill him and take the burden of killing you off of his shoulders.

And who could blame him? He only declared war on humanity out of parental grief over losing both his children in a single night, he never wanted to actually hurt anyone. But Toriel just left his ass and abandoned both him and their own people to live in the ruins by herself on the off chance that a human might fall down there, acting like a giant indignant cunt when her husband needed her the most.

You definitely don't have it in your inventory before that scene. It doesn't show up in the dark world either, meaning Kris probably shoved it in the same place he has his knife in. The only way to keep the ThornRing (for now) is to abort the route before ((making)) Berdly an icicle.

Funny enough, you *do* keep her watch both in the light and dark world, despite Noelle saying that Kris gave it back to her. I guess Toby missed it.

As for why Kris didn't throw it away/destroy it -- the only reason I can think of is that he prioritized hauling ass back to his house and creating that dark fountain more important than properly disposing of it.
Similarly, if Kris *really* wanted to stop you from mind raping Noelle, he could have, instead of blocking her mouth, just ripped you right out of him and played it off as a prank or something. But he didn't. He valued the promise he made with the Knight and the secrecy over his SOUL more than the life of his childhood friend.

its speculated that the thorn ring might be useful outside the snowgrave route as its a crafting material for the twisted sword. the other item required (pure crystal) is currently unobtainable but it may be the item that seam alludes to being able to create for you if you bring him 5 shadow crystals

the question is why the hell would you use the twisted sword outside of snowgrave, since it in itself is a heavily snowgrave themed item, apparently it allows you to actually kill enemies instead of having them run away at 0 hp. guess its a mystery

Maybe it's the weapon you use to destroy the knight for a specific ending. Given the only way to obtain it is by essentially going for a neutral route, IE neither pacifist nor snowgrave, it seems like the kind of thing that would be necessary for an endgame route.

I’d say the implication is that ripping the soul out hurts like a motherfucker and requires a lot of willpower, and we would definitely overpower Kris if he tried it at that specific moment. But we just don’t know the full extent of his deal with the knight and/or Carol yet.

Watch, the true ending will only be obtainable with the Twisted Sword (requires Thorn Ring, and by extension aborted Snowgrave) and all eggs (the Chapter 2 egg can’t be obtained while on Snowgrave so you have to backtrack after aborting, and the Chapter 3 egg requires you to not fight Zapper specifically) :cryblood:

It lower's Kris's TRANCE status
...whatever that is.
