I'm really liking Delta Rune a lot, the music is fantastic, but a few of the characters feel like retreads.

With Kickstarter, there's the extra stress of having people clamoring for their rewards or getting angry about delays and so on. Since from the sound of things he's already a bit stressed about the scope of the project compared to Undertale, and he must have made at least a couple of million off of Undertale (3 million+ players on Steam, on top of whatever mech sales he's made and sales on other platforms) so it's not like he's going to need to worry about scraping together the cash to fund it.
he is not stranger to them considering he is big friends with ZUN and apparently Yoko Taro is big fan of Undertale
I mean I’m pretty sure he’s aware of this what with his involvement in homosuck, and I’m pretty sure that’s where this “I’m not sure how to field a team” thing is coming from. Hussie took whatever schmucks came forward first to help him handle the workload, and eventually it strayed so far from his control, we ended up with a product that finished in no way resembling the original. Not to mention how working with a studio worked out for Hussie on Hiveswap.because everyone here know how the american "Indie" scene of videogames is, and i really REALLY dont want them infecting the thing with drama and their stupidities
To be fair, you have to remember this is an "episodic" affair. We're still at chapter 1 of the story so we'll probably be fed more worldbuilding as it goes along. For example Ralsei's kingdom has the empty inn, houses and shop which aren't explained, so it will probably cleared up later.I'm watching jacksepticeye play through Delta Rune. So far I have mixed feelings. The music is fantastic, as expected, but I don't feel invested in the story and characters the way I did in Undertale. Also, being pacifist feels kind of meaningless.
In Undertale you're told from the start that pretty much every character you meet in battle, except Toriel, wants to kill you and take your soul for admittedly understandable reasons. In that context choosing to spare them actually meant something. You were taking a risk by being kind to monsters who would ordinarily have no compassion for you in the hope that you could resolve their problems without violence, but what made it really special was that choosing to be violent or neutral also led to different and satisfying endings. The game doesn't push you in one direction or the other either. It basically presents Flowey and Toriel as examples of your two options and lets you decide.
In Delta Rune you've got a character following you around who constantly pressures and reminds you to be kind to everyone you meet to the point where it feels manipulative. What makes it worse is that so far the enemies don't even seem like they're trying. Susie and Lancer are basically a less threatening Team Rocket. True the first actual boss you face in Undertale is Papyrus, who will straight up let you go if you lose to him enough times, but right after that you have to fight Undyne and she is out for blood. I kept expecting the rematch with Susie and Lancer to be like Undyne, but it didn't seem much more difficult than the first fight with just Lancer. Where's the escalation?
The world of Delta Rune doesn't seem as lively or interesting as Undertale. In Undertale you had a whole civilization of misunderstood monsters who just wanted to see the sun again, even if it meant sacrificing human children, and the "villain" turned out to be a big softy who hated doing this grim task but felt he must to keep the monsters' hope alive. The story was simple but it had a lot of depth, too. In Delta Rune the story is just your basic good vs evil. It's a regular JRPG with Undertale fight mechanics and story beats slapped on top.
TL;DR: Meh.

Maybe it’s because Kris just looks like a more menacing version of Chara but to me Deltarune as far as I’ve gotten has had a consistently creepy vibe to it. I feel like the full game is going to be nightmare porn. Which is why I’m excited to see more. Hell, even that chalk scene in the hall was unsettling.
*coughmightynumber9cough*And after multiple big ass failures on kickstarter people gets weary, people is telling him on twitter the same thing as i did early in this thread, pick Japanese developers, im pretty sure Inticreates or Indieszero would pay big buck for him, he is not stranger to them considering he is big friends with ZUN and apparently Yoko Taro is big fan of Undertale, or if he really need to keep it local he could pick Yatch club games (yes he is american he even voted today)
Why japanese developers? because everyone here know how the american "Indie" scene of videogames is, and i really REALLY dont want them infecting the thing with drama and their stupidities
I just realized something, if that was the same Kris in that save slot then it means they've been there beforeThere's definitely a more overtly unsettling tone to this chapter for sure. And after the ending I'm pretty sure we're in for a major swerve when/ if the full game releases.
Also, note how shortly after we enter the dark world, we use the first save point to save over Kris. I'm betting either (your name) is the bad guy who overwrote Kris, or Kris was the bad guy all along and was only being held in check while we were in control. Either way I'm expecting us to take control of Ralsei or Susie in the next chapter.
Well, I dunno. I went back and checked and the location is blank. I'm not sure what to make of that.I just realized something, if that was the same Kris in that save slot then it means they've been there before
Tbf I kept forgetting he was a dude. That's the problem with putting gays in games with pixel graphics, you get them confused with chicks.Treesicle got BTFO'd by saying Ralsei is a girl in a previous video and is now doubling down.
I mean, the gote does refer to himself as a princeTbf I kept forgetting he was a dude. That's the problem with putting gays in games with pixel graphics, you get them confused with chicks.
