hmm.
that expression…
that’s the expression of someone who’s died eight times in a row.
that’s the number of fingers on a spider.
but soon…

…I couldn’t do it. I couldn’t hurt my skelebro. So nine tries through, hovering over the Fight button, that was it.
At least I ‘beat’ em though. B) Fighting him [and Undyne the Undying] were my real goals from the start, so, I’m content.
We really are friends, cos I ain’t comin’ back. ♥ Not like this, anyways.

Just got through playing a neutral pacifist run after reading Mauvwomyn Shuffleboard's description; usually I wouldn't bother going through a whole game again to get a different ending but the way the game alters the story based on your actions (being called out for save scumming was both impressive and made me feel shit) has got me interested in going through a true pacifist and genocide run.

This video is also worth watching for anyone looking for games of a similar vein which discusses Undertale and the idea of "Earthbound-likes" (which BTW once you finish Undertale buy LISA if you haven't already)

Just (actually) beat the game a couple days ago. I killed everyone I encountered so I think I'm going to make my second run as peaceful as possible, but I apparently can't avoid killing entirely so I guess it's gonna be a neutral run.

You only have to actually fight Asgore, but you can spare him at the end. Literally every enemy before that can be spared.

That's odd. I didn't get the option of sparing Toriel at the beginning.

Do nothing, let her reduce your HP to 2. After that point, she'll start purposefully missing you over and over and won't reduce your health past that on purpose. Keep doing nothing, and eventually she'll start doing dialogue with you that'll lead you out of the fight.

You get a hint from one of the frogs you talk to that sometimes you have to use the spare button when it's not yellow. No matter what, just keep using Spare against Toriel.

Also, if you played Genocide mode first, you may have already corrupted any Pacifico run you try from here on.

Well, I killed named NPCs whenever presented with a choice. Not sure if that constitutes genocide mode.
I also did let her bring me down to 2 HP as I was trying to talk to her but couldn't.
If my save is corrupted, is it possible to remedy that?

I think the only way to clear your save file is to completely delete the game from your computer and reinstall it. But if you're not sure if you did a Genocide run or not, what happened in the ending you got?

Flowey turned into a god, Mettaton conquered the underground.

You're good then. The corruption of your savefile only happens if you go out of your way to kill everything.

Ah, you avoided the bad end then. You can get the Pacifist ending. Basically just never use the Attack option save for the end, as someone pointed out earlier.

Man grinding for Temmie's education and her OP as shit armor was bad enough, no way I was gonna grind 10k again. And that was with dog residue abuse.
You can buy Temmie Flakes for 1G and sell them back for 2G as often as you want.

Also here is a dumb video (Which contains spoilers):
