Undertale

I hope there is a shift in storytelling in the next two chapters, because while the dialogue is well written and usually pretty funny, holy shit I was exhausted scrolling through a million text boxes in chapter two. I guess it’s a downside of having more characters overall, but compared to Undertale, Deltarune has been seriously lacking in any kind of subtle storytelling. I still liked it but it got stagnant at some parts for sure.

This is something I don't like about Toby, he surrounds himself with tumblr landwhales and gets toxic influence from them. Case in point, when he said that his "testing team" were grossed out by Spamton and called him creepy (source), but Spamton became an instant hit with the fanbase and the best thing about chapter 2. At the same time most of the fanbase don't give a shit about the overdrawn susie x noelle storyline except the minority of tumblr dykes, some of which push Toby.

Toby is at his best when he's doing his signature creative storytelling and not writing schlickfic for tumblroids, I hope this post was a one time unfunny joke and not the sign of more tumblrification and spergouts to come
I'm more concerned about the devs that Toby hired and what kind of stuff they might try to ad into the game. It can't be a good sign that they had to hire a tard wran-I mean, manager.
You can only hope that he has an iron grip on his vision of the game and won't let it get twisted, this game came to him in a fever dream and it seems important to him. Then again he's also a tumblrfag himself. I hope the next chapters focus more on the main story and lore rather than tumblr shipping and filler

Toby’s been in the Tumblr crowd since the beginning and even made a song for a Homestuck mpreg animation, yet came out the other side without a single Orange Man/Capitalism/Twitter/Space Man Bad to his name, even though the people surrounding him would undoubtedly cheer him on for it. If nothing else, he knows how to separate personal politics from his professional work.

My only concerns are Suselle happening (I think later chapters will continue to show that it’s one-sided) and Asgore not getting some kind of redemption/forgiveness. Toby said something way back like “I hope the player can be friends with everyone by the end”, so that’s reassuring for Asgore.

>Sorry, chud, Suselle IS canon. Chapter Ϫ WILL be dedicated entirely to SusiexNoelle romance, it WILL feature a 30 minutes long uninterrupted sex scene with them and you WILL like it.
>Anyways, Chapter 3 will be out when I'm done gooning to my yuri collection. Thank you for your patience.

It's a typical tranime trope where the dood doesn't know that the girl likes him and acts all oblivious, there's plenty of blushing and other crap, it's obvious that it's an intended relationship

Doesn't matter. I'm modding it all out.

As much as I'd love for shipping bullshit to not derail the plot and for Noelle to be a cuckqueen i do think those 2 may become a couple, at least on the neutral or golden routes, because of how Susie explicitly mentions Noelle during one dialogue on the castle town at the end of chapter 2, and how she even pulls a "wait, why am i thinking about her" line, which is a pretty common cliche way to set up a character realizing they like someone.

It's crystal clear that it's gonna happen, I don't see how anyone ITT doubted it
It's because Toby Fox wrote an actually good romance seemingly by complete accident and only managed to double down on it in Chapter 2 ...and if you don't give a shit it isn't really in your face.
Seriously, I am so sick of the "opposites attract" trope. It makes no sense and reeks of the writer bending things.

Ps. Does anyone have any examples of good romances in gaming? I don't recall particularly many.
