Undertale

I can't help but wonder what exactly is the reason for it taking this long.

Cuphead, an indie game where everything is meticulously hand-drawn and animated frame by frame made by 2 dudes with no prior experience took less time to develop than a mere fraction of deltarune, and it released as a complete finished product with no early access bullshit, one of the best and most polished indie games of all time.

Compare that to deltarune. Is it a lack of resources? Hell no, writer's block? Toby already knows the ending to the game, it came to him in a fever dream before he even made undertale... I know making games is hard but come on, seriously? He could at least give a reason as to why it's so slow
I think the reason why Cuphead released earlier than Deltarune despite being more ambitious (at least on the art department) is because the brothers had Microsoft to breathe down their necks and make sure they could deliver their product in time, meanwhile it took Toby until 2023-2024 to hire a producer to tard wrangle him and his team, that coupled by Toby's insistence to push the console versions and Japanese translation on launch, as well as Toby getting sidetracked doing collabs with other composers, indie devs, and even shitty manchildren cartoons like we baby bears.

this is some peak schizo shit (dev's channel)

or perhaps some kinda ARG

Same reason why there's still a Katawa Shoujo general
I was thinking about that too, along with Doki Doki, but I'm not sure why UFans have to talk about. I don't think DR has any new content in years, and Undertale fans don't make a lot of fan games either. LISA has shit tons of them.

Crazy to think we might actually get GTA 6 before the completion of Deltarune.

It doesn't matter what Toby Fox has planned for the franchise's story because, by the time the game is finished, the copyright on all the characters will be up and people can make whatever they want as "canon." They already do so anyway.

That is, assuming another random indie game doesn't take away its thunder and half its remaining fanbase in the meantime.

UNDERTALE has a setting ripe for fan content but its gameplay systems are heavily tied to the story.
Also there were like 7 dating sims in development and only one ever came out, lol.

>nearly the entire UNDERTALE saga has taken place since GTA V's release, starting when the DEMO was put out a month or two before GTA

>The last franchise to have "Megapauses" was completely BTFO ...by UNDERTALE
Anyway, I can't wait to start my AU where the underground is the jewish tunnels beneath New York

Random chapter 3 and 4 release date guess with the latest info…I’m feeling a cool March 22nd.
I hope not. It's going to clash with Psycho Patrol R.
On the other hand, there's backup if one of them is shit.
In the unthinkable event that both of them are awful, Half-Life 3 is coming soon.

If Half-Life 3 sucks a dick...
Well... Shit.

and thus barely working.
I guarantee this is a big part of it. He probably has some very worthless and gay members on his team and they probably spend days upon days talking about their feelings and other gay shit before implementing something then ripping it out to
LISA has shit tons of them.
Lisa has two that are any good and a bunch in development that might not be any good. I don't think fan games are a barometer for a quality fan base. Deltarune will come out and I guarantee it will be a best seller.
