Undertale

How in the fuck is "degenerate" a "no-no" word?
'Erm actually, that is a gounaphobic and queerphobic word, that is, a word used in kink-shaming furries and queer people into enforcing a WASP heteronormative society of neurotic repression that inevitably results in predation of children. Even worse, the word d*egenerate is used when criminalizing trans existence.'
Can you tell than I am being parodic?

Schizo theory time, I believe that the wiffle bat is a reference to a particularly perverse greentext. Some other items resemble Dess x Asriel greentext stories I've seen.
Kris spread a story to Noelle tha the ICE-E mascot was real, knowing that Noelle wa scared of the ICE-E mascot. Dess hit Kris with a whiffle bat until he stopped lying.

Although I agree I don't get why everyone falls in love with her.
She is a rough and tough girl with a heart of gold. That would endear her to a lot of the Internet.
Her appearance, especially, apparently got subjected to Self-Fanservice according to TVTropes, despite her being underage.

Finished playing through the chapters. Chapter 3 was mid but the secret boss and final boss made it worth it. Chapter 4 hands down was phenomenal. My favorite chapter, with a lot of heavy hitters. Just really good character writing on Toby's part, and even the gameplay was very fun. I think Toby's censorship of the original Snowgrave scene is cringe, but I felt like he's cooking something good. It was nice to see the very real pain in Susie's demeanor once she relized that Gerson was dead, and was literally looking at his corpse in the church.

TORIEL IS A [skeletons in your closet] LOVING BITCH. May she get her comeuppance soon!

This might explain why he's suddenly censorship-friendly, as I doubt Nintendo would like having a game with too spicy themes for one of their launch entries, but it might a stretch.
Here's a video I found with secrets of chapters 3 and 4. Naturally, spoilers. I can't figure out how you're supposed to learn about this stuff. Does Toby expect lunatics with the game engine editor at hand? The egg bits for example I only got the one from the first chapter, I wasn't aware there would be more.

I also found a video that shows that you can kill the Titan Spawns and get a minor bonus like when you defeat enemies by making them "Lost" with no consequences, likely due to a bug, or because The Titan is a mindless monster hellbent on destruction and therefore killing it is okay. According to the video's description, once you kill the spawns, you get a new score in the stat screen: Enemies slain.
Perhaps you'll be able to do the Genocide experience with the Twisted Sword or something in future chapters.
I actually had to reload my save because I killed a spawn before the "purify" option came up and got the ominous "You became stronger" message.

Checked that video and yep!

You CAN kill the Spawns, but it will take a while unless you're in a genocide route as they're tough. I also noticed that Ral is holding back even now, as not only he has fire magic he barely uses in combat, he can fly (his running animation) and reanimate companions (his 'wake up Kris' action si summoning a little Ralsel patting Kris until he wakes up). You do get a SLAIN score, which is meant for later chapters.

Oops! Forgot about that.
Checked that video and yep!
If you equip the dark shard you get the "SlayDark" ability which buffs your damage against them enough to kill one in 2 turns.

Can you elaborate? Don't care if you spoil.
Alongside moving around alot, Susie is implied to have absent parents who don't really take care of her needs. She's constantly hungry, and never wants to stay in her family's apartment. When she stays the night at kris' house they don't even go to check out.
It's revealed before the events of the story proper, when Susie first moved in, she had a really emotionally vulnerable moment in the graveyard and Toriel stepped in to comfort her. Which gave Susie a lot of respect for Toriel, as well as probably starting her one-sided rivalry with kris' that he himself didn't give a shit about.
Que the end of Chapter 4 when Susie and kris just barely escaped with their lives from an encounter with a Titan and still haven't made any progress on stopping the night and Toriel is totally sloshed, having spent the entire day and now night with Sans. So with Toriel being revealed to also be neglectful to an extent, Susie losses all the respect she had for her.
Toriel and Asgore's tendency to smother their children with affection in lieu of actual parenting, taking care of their kids needs is a pretty overlooked part of their characters that Susie also missed until now. Toriel and Asgore don't really take an interest in what Kris does or is interested in, they didn't even get him a piano in the past, and instead of explaining to him the difference between humans and monsters, gave him a horn headband to try to make him happy. Kris clearly has some sort of complex regarding Asriel, which Toriel and Asgore ignore, they both also know of Kris' tendency to self harm but don't try to help him. Not to mention how they both use Kris as a go between for their stupid divorced antics. They also seem to haven't been able to help Asriel and Kris with the trauma of whatever happened with their young, Kris is revealed to have a history of violent impulses, outbursts, and mental health problems yet he's still neglected.
Some of this is really basic stuff, there's a reason why siblings are separated from each other while in school and they aren't allowed to be taught by their parents either.

There's these two interesting videos on the topic by Dorked and Kooki914 which I think do the subject justice.
and

I'm dumb, now I realize that Kris' interactions with the SOUL starting from Chapter 1 could be a metaphor for self-harm (plus there's a bloodstain on the ground that no-one seems to care).

It could be that Toriel tries but has no idea how humans work, hence why she read that book. For what's worth, DR monsters aren't as magical as UT ones so regular parenting would have worked. Sadly, Kris was sickly, was damaged from the start or due to the neglect, was trying to get attention, or all three at once, and he's seen as the black sheep, so he got the short end of the stick.
If you try to pray for Asriel in chapter 4, Kris doesn't seem very convinced, which implies he's not fond of him, understandably so as Asriel seems to have everything while Kris does not.
How Kris got in such position, the only humie in town, will likely be a plot-point in the future, nevermind if other humies are around (they should be, or that book wouldn't make sense).

>topic of Deltarune comes up outside of this thread
>decide to give my righteous and true take that Noelle is cunt
>refer to Kris as a guy, "he", "him", etc

>"yikes, rookie mistake Toby himself said Kris is non-binary in a stream and even corrected chat when they were calling him a guy"

I. Fucking. Hate. Trannies. So. God. Damn. Much.

Most people don't give a singular fuck.
Just tell them "Don't care, didn't ask"
Kris is clearly a fucking He, and it's baffling to think otherwise.
Like, I can see an argument to be made for Frisk and maybe Chara considering those two characters didn't actually have a character at all.

Kris is clearly his own character, the "they/them" shit is actually the heart enforcing mental illness upon him by psychopaths that ruin peoples lives as a game. Bravo Tobias. Amazing meta-commentary.

Speaking of trannies, I saw some retard making fanart of the moon guy and cloud sheep featuring the troon flag and decided to make a quick check to the wiki and... Oh my, check this shit out.

There's no confirmation of those two being a troon and a pooner, but if they were, consider the following:
> Name is the spanish equivalent of "Shemale" and "She-he".
> A troon and a pooner in a couple with each other, so unstable giving to one slighty more attention than the other immediately breaks them.
> Getting into a toxic policule with an insufferable individual of confused sex and then the sexless
STARWALKER after breaking with him.
> Feeling the need to get back to that same toxic relationship in chapter 4.

If toby decides to make them a tranny and a pooner, it may unironically be the most based thing he has ever done since it automatically turns them into a mockery of troon culture.

Can't be the most based thing he's ever done.
Not until he tops "tl;dr, eat shit faggots"

I just realized that Ch3 and 4 didn't have any memorable music (except the Knight boss theme)

What a fall from grace, Toby Fox known for writing good story and music failed hard in both chapters
Gerson's tracks were pretty good, first sanctuary's background theme is nice too in chapter 4. Chapter 3 definitely wasn't that memorable though.

The only songs I liked are Black Knife, Hammer of Justice (Just because I like Undyne's theme in general) and The Place Where It Rained (And that's just because it's a slightly slower It's Raining Somewhere Else with ambient rain added)
I guess Hall of Fame was pretty neat too, but that's not really a full song, it's just an extension of HEY EVERY
Second Sanctuary and Third Sanctuary sound too much like a ring-tone, and though that's probably intended considering the whole thing with Kris on the phone to somebody, and the prevalance of phones got me wondering something.

If there's a darkner for objects in the light world, and light world objects are changed by virtue of being in the dark.
Why isn't Kris' cellphone changed at all aside from becoming non-functional?

Also if that leaked chapter 5 knight re-match theme is legit then

Alphys is either the knight or the knight's creator
