I honestly think it's because they so much free time they are cows to be honest, at least in a lot of cases.
Not very many cows manage to hold down a real job (not just show up reeee on twitter like a lot of soft science academics) when they do they tend to be the better cows, who do have some form of drive to them.
The ones that dont need to have a job they tend to find something else to focus on to fill there free time with and end up going down the rabbit hole of eccentricity that real life or education would normally put some kind of damper on and when they have no need to work because they are provided for they don't really have any idea what money is worth and tend to blow it only to end up ebegging for more.
Think about it for a second, when you buy something from a shop or online you have a good idea how long it took you to earn that money and you want to spend it wisely and to also not max you out when you do buy something that isn't essential, you know that it's two weeks till payday and that if you spend £60 on a game you wont have any money for food or petrol next week so you'll reluctantly hold off on that purchase till you can afford it - cows who don't or have never worked don't think about money like that.
Chris is the best example of this, he worked for a grand total of 2 weeks of his life out of 40 years on this planet he got a not inconsiderable sum every month and had no real outlay in terms of bills so he was always able to anaesthetise himself with toys and games, but in the last half of the month he was panhandling not very often at first but as time gone on he got more and more desperate for cash.
Cobes is another good example, Beginnng of the month he's Drunk as a skunk and really happy and then get's little dopamine hits when he streams to get more money for booze - He used to hold down a job and at first he was a OK employee but as time dragged on and he started drinking more, smoking more and doing drugs he became less and less worth while in a job specifically created for special needs people, he kept doing it till they just stopped schedualing him, now he views making his wands as a chore and trys to sell them for a stupidly high price and calls that a job. while getting so drunk he fall's asleep in front of his imac for several hours, or blows $40+ on a delivery pizza, or cooking some abomination.
Both have no real idea what it costs to live they both get some form of state funding, ebeg and money from other sources, hell I suspect that cobes uses a food bank fairly regularly.
