Unintentionally (or intentionally) racist SJW art

Does anyone remember, there was a Japanese video game character whose design was obviously based on the (incredibly handsome) Toshiro Mifune, then some tumblrite declared it "too western looking", racist, and redesigned him as a sallow-skinned, squint-eyed caricature straight out of some WW2 propaganda?

I see it a lot with race bending in general, a lot of times the more aggressive character is given darker skin (Vegeta, Shadow the Hedgehog, Buttercup from the Powerpuff Girls, Ryuko from Kill la Kill, etc)

... Isn't Shadow the Hedgehog already black though?
