Unpopular views about music

Sampling is not only stealing, it's super lazy in 99.99% of the cases someone does it. If you did the effort going through old tapes and vinyl records I might give you a pass (if it's well processed enough), but if you have a Splice subscription and just download the same shit that everybody else have, you should KYS.
We live in an era where recording your own stuff is super easy, yet these "producers" can't spend 2 minutes to set up a mic or play with some presets on a VST, they just have to drag in someone elses audio file into their own projects.

If you need someone elses audio to complete your own song, your song was shit to begin with and you are letting someone else carry your garbage "music" up to a tolerable level (a.k.a modern music standards). Yes, I'm calling out niggers for just stealing old songs only to put their ugly lip mumbling on top of Eurocentric sounds, which is poetic since it's equivalent to (art) rape. Hip hop/rap is rape in audio form.

Notice how everyone within a year uses the same fucking sample, I hate trend chasing faggots so much, and I know some of them can actually make their own shit (Sub Focus can make some dope stuff). No need to be a nigger, but they choose to be one. It's like the whole music industry got niggerfyed and now everyone else just joined in.

The absolute state of music...

"Black music" only got accepted because jews entangled it with "white" sounds. This is why they made sampling a thing so they can always insert some "whiteness" so people aren't 100% repulsed by nigger sounds.

Mandatory meme btw.

Steely Dan made it work back in 1972, but they actually made a proper song out of it that's good outside of the fact that it's about how John Lennon's Imagine was naive and stupid.
I'm not saying they can't work or that a songwriter can't call out someone else's stupidity/lack of ability/pretentious navel-gazing/whatever, just that most of the rap dis tracks come down to "so and so didn't show me respect and my feelings were hurt" nonsense you expect to find in a 13 year old girl's diary.

I gotta disagree because I discovered a lot of older music I just likely would have never heard due to sampling. I love the website WhoSampled.
I mean you might disagree because this is old school black music but I think this track is awesome. Most people probably never listened to the full song but pretty much everyone knows the few seconds at the 2:10 mark because Eminem sampled it for his breakout track "Hi My Name Is."

And sampling goes way beyond hip-hop electronic heavily uses samples. Daft Punk's "Digital Love" just outright lifted the opening hook to this song. Which was the right call because the opening to this song is the only great part.

To find new music: this is a curator or a radio DJ's job, the artists job is to create a new song. Again, nigger music needs other artists music to sound tolerable, the Eminem shit is just a role reversal meme so people can say "muh white steal from blacks too" so kikes can claim it's an "even field". You are just enjoying the original work that said artists stole.

I love the website WhoSampled.
Yeah, me too since now you can actually trace who stole what.

Daft Punk
> tries to re-label nigger sounds as an anonymous due "artist" group.

See, only subhumans samples other peoples audio. In this case subhumans stealing from other subhumans.

How do you feel about covers, is that also stealing? Because I love high quality covers of old pop music that was made long ago. Modern musicians (even ones on small budgets) can record covers of early 20th century jazz and country standards in a higher quality which I appreciate because if you try to listen Pre-1950s music generally the sound mixing is very subpar.

At the end of the day it's just music to me. I don't care who is playing the instrument as long as they're good at it.

As for Daft Punk and cryptojewery, I don't care Digital Love is a fun little song.

I accept covers because the title is directly credited in the name to the original artist (in most cases). This in recent times has been neglected tho (the original artist is not mentioned anymore). Covers are pretty much "I'm now singing/performing this specific artists song".
  • [original artists name] - [song name] ([sec artist name] Cover) : ok labeling (original artists is directly named)
  • [sec artist name] - [song name] (Cover) : not ok labeling (name is removed)

That's the fuckery with it, you like the songs. But behind the scenes it's so much subversion and backstabbing since it's so easy to get away with it as long you can get a big enough of "fame" to be defended for the sole reason of "it sounds good tho".

I get that listeners don't give a shit about this, just like I don't give a shit about child labor in Bangladesh, I just want my cotton t-shirt for cheap and move on with enjoying my day. So I really do get why nobody would care about who did what to an audio file on your computer or who is actually playing on the stage. In the end of the day, your are making a "product" for mostly drunk and/or high people and kids, It would be delusional to expect them to gatekeep and track anything.

With ghost kitchens and other white-label products for brand/celebrity drop shipping merchandise being the new "standard model/workflow" of other products, I think that you can forget the idea of the music industry itself ever improving its morals.

Jazz is fucking garbage!

Rock music is four chords entertaining thousands
Jazz is thousands of chords entertaining four People

"If you really want to be a musician and you are prepared to really work hard at it, but you don't have the gift and you don't have any soul and you don't have any talent, jazz is what you should do"

Couldn't have put it better than Stewart Copeland
The thousands of super colorful chords is what makes Jazz special. 4-chord rock "music," noise you and many normies seem to be very fond of, bore me. While you listen to boring, harmonically bland nu-indie rockslop, I listen to Fine art. Rock music is for plebs and you all know it.

highest form of music

If you say rock music has "SOUL" you're a musically retarded and should be banned from listening to music.

Your autistic screed would have more weight if you didn't link some J-Pop slop doing a weird impression of an American musical styling. Hard to take "JAZZ IS BESTEST" seriously when it's some chinks doing a bastardized version og it.

this is the UTTER ANTITHESIS OF SLOP. It's RARE to see this level of quality and technical skill.

chinks doing a *BETTER version og it.

Jazz is meaningless babble that most manages to be both formless and repetitive at the same time. Jazz "musicians" do nothing but restate cliches over II-V-I's and jack off over any half decent sounding music they accidentally squeak out. Everything they think is unique about their art form has been done before and better by classical composers. A 4 chord pop song is more of a legitimate aesthetic statement then 90% of jazz. Jazz is only complex if you analyze it with theory that doesn't actually relate what the performers are actually doing. At least most rock songs have something to say.

Edit:
Thats the Jazz you link, holy shit you're musically illiterate. You don't know any music theory, that shit is so fucking route. Its the same chord substitutions over and over again, its not good. It's not even colorful or interesting. This is actually the worst fucking things I've heard in my whole life. Taylor swift is better then this and taylor swift makes me want to gouge my eyes out. Some how this guy took only the bad parts of video games osts, funk, and jazz and created 3 minutes of migraine inducing anti art. This is soul to you? Are you an actual retard? Do you understand music is supposed to make you feel something deeper then an autistic "OMg So ComPlex." I wrote most of my original reply as hyperbole. There is good jazz out there, but you're so fucking far off of it. Educate yourself faggot. Seriously, get help. Soul and you link that. What the fuck do you think soul is

I think there is a difference between a cover and sampling in that with a cover, a musician is taking a piece of music and using it as inspiration to make his own version of it. With sampling, the musician is just taking a piece of music and just inserting it into something else wholesale.

I think Jazz is just relaxing music to have in the background.
To each their own.

I love Jazz, but not because its complex. I enjoy Ryo Fukui, Enroll Gardener, Stan Getz, and a lot of different artists. But there is a certain type of jazz pendant that triggers me like a baroque sleeper agent.

Like this guy thinks this isn't SOVL

This just isn't true, sampling done well can produce legitimately beautiful and original music. Even classical composers would quote other composers music in their work. There are dozens of transcriptions that are held in high regard as artistic accomplishments, especially of Bach. Music isn't a zero sum game, you're just being a goofy luddite.
