UNRECORD - Photorealistic bodycam FPS game

Here's a good video giving some more background on the game and about how it is not actually a scam and it does look like that in game, and also goes in-depth into it a bit.


And to be fair, the fact it looks "photorealistic" makes perfect sense. It does a very good job at simulating the light, it adds a video filter as it is meant to look like bodycam footage, which masks some imperfections, and it adds believable camera movements.

Those are the three principles on which Kane Pixel's Backrooms were based on, which also explains why that series looks so good. Good lighting, video filter, realistic camera movement. Boom, instant realism.

I see great potential in this game.

Especially if they let you make custom maps

Nah, just slap down the corpo speak saying that any and all user created maps are not an admission in the opinion / views of the game and/or the company, that should keep you going unless the bank steps in and says to get rid of it

That isn't how things work sadly, 100% if that happened they would get strict moderation in place and possibly revoke tools.

Imo deserves the attention for the idea alone, don't understand all the vitriol that it generates on the webs, especially from casual gamers who either think it's fake or belittle the concept like it insults them or something. Some people will just shit on something because it's different and isn't another cookie cutter shooter.

They're also probably the same types of faggots that whined when Ready or Not was a best-selling on Steam when it hit Early Access. Because portraying police work in a completely neutral fashion is apparently verboten to these freaks. They have to be portrayed as Neo-Nazi racists who curbstomp dindus for jaywalking and littering, otherwise it's "copaganda."

It'll probably never happen, given that it's Unreal 5. Notice how every major moddable game runs on some in-house engine, an archaic engine or both, and note how many games based on Unreal 5 are there. It's a very restrictive engine when it comes to modding and it would take significant effort from the devs to even add it in.
 
I liked playing SWAT4 so i'm sort of interested in this (though i don't own VR gear).

If people think this is controversial wait till people mod in a PVP school shooter level where one dude has to try to kill as many kids as possible before the cop side stops him.
