Workers, like anything else, are subject to the law of supply and demand (the more of something there is, the less it's worth, and vice versa.) The reason wages are so low is because there are too many workers and not enough jobs. If I were an employer, why should I care if someone quits a minimum wage job? I can hire a dozen more workers before the day is out. If minimum wage costs more than, say installing a kiosk, I'm installing the kiosk.
If you want wages to go up, you need to decrease the supply of workers in the job market.

This is a ridiculous claim and is even more ridiculous when you compare the most you've ever grifted in an hour on the side of the street to what most people make per hour, 8 hours per day, 2080 hours a year. Even if we believed that you have made $100 in one hour of begging, that's the max, not the average. You likely average a few hundred per week. Even those on minimum wage make far more than you do with better "employment" conditions such as restrooms, time off, and benefits. Your bullshit posting about "unskilled labor" is even more laughable. You're not even qualified for "unskilled" jobs. Literally nobody will hire you to do anything of substance. You have no concept of what real people derive in income. I would venture to guess that the majority of people here put more in their HSAs and 529 plans than you bring in all year hustling rocks and begging with your sax.

All of those jobs listed do require a certain kind of person, however, whose personality traits allow them to perform repetitive tasks without losing focus, and that should be valued. As much as med school? No, but a living wage is called for.
All except for that last one. The USPS is a fucking dinosaur and beyond reason still handles a large portion of package delivery in addition to post and is full of people who are apathetic at best and vindictive children at worst. I wouldn’t care nearly so much if they weren’t in charge of things like delivering medicine and vital documents. They should be dissolved and replaced by the private sector and it should happen yesterday.
