Julay, seriously do not give in to Chris this time. Just because he wants something doesn't mean we should jump and give it to him...
don't feed wild animals

i'm not really over chris' priorities. like i know its been pointed out ten times already but i am an extremely nervous person and the idea that someone could disregard that BARB IS REALLY OLD AND HIS HOUSE IS GONE AND IF HE DOESNT MAKE CHANGES NOW NOW NOW THE FUTURE IS GOING TO BE HORRENDOUS

even though you know the sweetheart search isnt going anywhere youd think that he would at least be working at it more fervently considering his mom's health like geez

I found a picture that perfectly summarizes Chris's attitude towards adulthood:

That's a very good question, Chris. I suppose if I was putting together a wishlist like this, it would be because my entire perspective is based on having been a spoilt, sheltered parasite all my life, shielded from the social and financial consequences of my lifestyle, and as a result I literally do not see why I should not get something, purely because I want it.

Its like these days he's acting out like I did in 1991. He's looking at this big Wish Book from Sears and is circling every little toy he wants Santa (or, in his entitled mind, the World) to give to him.

I could never believe the naive little bastard could get this way through one care package. Just because you get free stuff on one occasion, doesn't mean its permanent.

In Chris' case, though, he really has spent most of his life getting free stuff. His parents spoilt him, he gets paid for sitting around on his ass playing vidya and Bob paid off his credit card debt. Just when the well was starting to run dry, suddenly the trolls send him a care package. All that's changed is that now he thinks he can mooch of the Internet.

What is Chris going to do with a pirate ship? He doesn't really seem like a pirate person. Or does he just want every Lego ever made? It really is a cool pirate ship. I don't think Chris deserves something so cool.

Maybe he'll go huntin' for a new tugboat ter plunder, after Cap'n Snorlax commandeered his current one.
Or maybe he took a tip from :hulk: and realised bandanas are great for covering up the bald...

Suppose you wanted a gift. You decide on some sort of way to communicate that to your friends or family. Maybe you tell them directly, maybe you hint at it, maybe you make an online wishlist. You think that you have maintained the social conventions of your circle, but it turns out you have accidentally come across as greedy/needy and given offense.

I know a lot of you would say you wouldn't get yourself into that situation, but for the sake of argument assume you did.

You have a couple options:

1) Apologize for the offense caused and try to walk back any damages you may have done to your relationships.
2) Go on the offensive. Insist what you have done is right, and respond angrily to any suggestions otherwise.

Would anyone but Chris go with option 2?

But he's paying his credit card bills with the :tugboat: though, right?
Yes, but it's stretching out the cost he's got to pay out into the vague, foggy future. But yeah, you're right, like Alec says, I do wonder what's going on. It's weird, like, things can't be going that well for Chris. But If things were serious, I would've thought we would've heard some real panicking from Chris. I have no clue how Chris isn't fucking drowning financially right now. It's a cwcmas miracle.

Well, that's how we'll know when it happens. The day that the tugboat is no longer sufficient to cover his minimum payments, we're gonna start hearing a shitstorm from him about how he can't afford to live and he needs help.

Maybe trying to sell his violin is actually the start of it.

Why don't you max out on credit cards on toys or video games or nights out or whatever your pleasure is? You know that n the future you might want to buy a house or a car, go on a vacation, start a business, do something that involves credit.

Chris has none of these desires. If he was financially responsible now he would have more money and credit in the future to buy toys then. Why not just buy them now?

Oh his finances are dogshit. I'm just wondering why he's not actually drowning. Like, how can he buy food, is what I'm wondering.

No, he's getting more worthless giftcards. YOU CAN'T STOP ME!

Let me think; you want him to throw more tantrums in public in hopes that one day, someone records a 30 something year old unemployed tranny man throw a fit when his gift cards won't work and posts the video on YouTube. I see what you did there. Or rather, give him some exercise where he has to open boxes to find your worthless gift cards and burn more calories by throwing tantrums and jumping up and down like a crack tard. Interesting ulterior motive there... Interesting.

Right now, I have one credit card. It has a little over $600 of debt on it right now, with a credit limit of $1600. At one point 4 years ago the card was almost maxed out. The minimum payment is $39 a month and it shoots up if I pay late. I have had this single credit card for almost 10 years, and the debt slowly built up paying for things like a bed to sleep in or high heating bills. In order to get to where I am now with $1000 available credit I had to pay closer to $100 a month to make a dent in my debt. I can't even think about what kind of debt Chris has accumulated. He probably has lots of cards with small limits so the minimum payments are maybe like 10-20 bucks, but still, he's probably still paying off video game purchases from 2 console generations ago.

"Think about it."

A classic CWCism, signifying his belief that he's made a brilliant and inarguable point.
And a classic indication that he believes he's always right, and anyone who disagrees does so by default from a position of ignorance.

Hell, if you tally all of his minimum payments, it could be several hundred a month! I don't know how this paradigm is continuing at all for him.
